  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

SCARLET ANNOUNCEMENT - Feedback

Firstly, FUCKING INCREDIBLE!

* Stress levels are hilariously large, I've been on the checkout page for an hour + submit SUBMIT SUBMITTTT DAMN YOU!!! Worse place to keep dying.
Stressing me out. I could end up with 6 standby orders??
 
This completely crushes the canon. there is not even a competition here. even the mount for CANON's lenses is better
 
Perfect, so with Canon mount i can adjust iris and have autofocus too on my EF lens, that's great.
 
congratulations jim. both the scarlet and epic are nicely priced for their specs. you're covering everyone - from indy filmmaker up to the pros.
 
The camera I was expecting... for 10K less... awesome :)

If I lower the RC, can I get higher framerates at a given resolution? Say if I wanted to shoot RC 14:1 at 4k QHD, can I get 60 fps?
 
My first post.
The Scarlet looks amazing. Hopefully I won´t be too far behind in the queue, I was refreshing like a madman, and trying to get an order in from the second it went online. But it took me 72min until I actually got the order through.. A lot of time-outs. This is truly a game-changing camera. Thank you Jim & RED.
 
congrats on the newborn, this is indeed an epic camera :-)

scarlet s35 became epic s
epic s became scarlet x

It makes sense with tsunami aftermath, fixed lens delays, and the bad economy to make a little sister to the epic... instead of maintaining a different product branch altogether.

same sensor, same accessories, similar firmware and decode software. everyone wins

Also makes a perfect B-cam for Epic owners. Only real issue for everyone will be the wait for backordered accessories at least for the next 3-6 months.

More expensive than previous scarlet projects but both the Alu and PL Ti packages are cheaper than Canon announcements... plus the few extra features !

Speaking of, any update on the iPad / iPhone app for DSCM control ?

Are the new side cheese plates plates part of the tactital system ? Do you have any more pict of them (dumb side view ?)
