From what I have learned about Nikon af on epic, only g lenses work with autofocus. So if you have a g lens it should work.

Any way to disable the focus and distance text in the top left corner of the screen? For those of us who use Leica R lenses and such
Thanks
You'll need to create a custom overlay.
- Go to Settings->Display->Monitor Control->Overlay
- Select 'Standard (RED)'
- Select 'Clone...'
- Give your overlay a name
- Select the 'F.LEN' entry in the grid
- Select 'Remove'
- Select the 'F.DST' entry in the grid
- Select 'Remove'
- Select 'Create'
- Go to Settings->Display->Monitor Control->Monitor
- Select the display you are using (e.g. Brain LCD)
- Select the overlay you created
You can export the overlay to an SSD and save on your computer to save some steps next time.
Nice update but my atomos Samurai won't trigger anymore.
Yep, have this fading too, with that the switching feels longer than before. No other problems so far, it just doesn't look "right".Anyone experiencing the same?
The factory setting from Red is 75 for when the fan kicks in...I didn't adjust that because I'm shooting doc stuff and often I have to record takes of 5 minutes or longer. I assumed if below that threshold of 75 was problematic to the integrity for given images Red would have lowered the factory setting.
I have re-calibrated and re-installed. It doesn't seem to make any difference. I thought to be safe I would use 1000 ISO yesterday and managed exposure on the LCD and monitor as such, but again when I got home and looked in RCX the same under-exposing occurred, and I discovered that green cast was implemented in the meta-data at 25 something on the tint. This was not done by me and is reflective of some earlier builds a couple years ago where I noticed this happening.
When the camera is cool the picture looks fine, but within a few minutes of recording the temp shoots up very quickly, and generally by the 2nd or 3rd shot it's already pushing the 75 degree mark. I don't think that's normal.
The SSD is very, very hot to the touch. When i put in a new mag and begin recording the internal temp shoots up. In standby the fan is blasting of course.
One of the weird things I noticed was that the noise became apparent in the LCD as well as the monitor so it's possible to see the progressive degradation of the image. I even tried adjusting the ISO and shutter angle in between shots to see if perhaps that was the issue but it didn't do anything to improve the picture -not that I expected it would but thought maybe something was stuck internally.
Even in playback mode in camera the exposure seemed OK. But the noise was immediately evident.
As for RCX the meta data is read the same as my recording settings. My feeling is this is all related to the new calibration...Red has said temperature impacts noise, but if it is the camera itself altering the ambient temperature (the rooms I have been shooting in were under 60 degrees and quite large) then clearly there's a problem that cannot be fixed by selecting another black shade in between shots. As the temperature rises the image becomes noisier...I will see if I can export some snaps to give everyone an idea.
I'm going to be shooting on the older firmware on my other Epic for the time being (doc stuff I cannot afford shoot again since it only happens once)...and I will roll back this one to see if it's anything in camera that's causing the problem. For now, I don't need this weirdness. I was very happy with the prior build.
