Anyone have any idea if this is a blackshading issue or something to do with the firmware? I've been getting these weird compression/grain lines recently. Normally happens after shooting for a while.

Been testing the build live for a whole week. Havent had any problems with it.
Btw HDRx is a LIFESAVER. Incredibly useful. Today I just entered drug dealers houses in the jungle with a SWAT team to save captured animals (!) and we had to come in from bright sunshine and move to dark inside. Thanks to the HDRx it just WORKS in post, otherwise it would have been a much trickier situation to deal with.

Anybody got any idea if there's a way to actually use the Flip feature for monitoring? We can only obtain a flipped/backwards image which is essentially unusable (and therefore hard to call a feature really, so I highly doubt this is what RED intends). I'm sure we must be doing something wrong. We can get the UI flipped/reversed -- and therefore legible. But the image itself is not reversed.
Anyone?????
I have to agree on this one. I was on a small shoot after upgrading and suddenly -30db was the lowest you could go. Previous shoot I was around -25db.Is there any reason why the gain on the preamps cannot be set lower than 30 db? This is not particularly helpful.
So, on reading that thread, the best answer for exposures that take longer than 1 second is still to take an SLR with you and use that instead. The added advantage being a battery that lasts eight hours and doesn't weigh 4 kilos. Sure there's a time downside in post, but not compared to black shading and noise removal from the MX sensor derived image.@Andreas and Paul: have a look at this post, it might help to understand that feature: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showth...tup-question&p=1137413&viewfull=1#post1137413
