  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I haven't asked Red anything because at this point its a, now you see it, now you don't type of line.

I including a couple of others aren't seeing it at all. Yet there are some that are.

Im only seeing it in PPro.

Ok, i dropped in ppro and didn't see it at all.
 
Im definitely going to do another test tomorrow.

Hopefully my camera is ok.
 
Ok now I opened it again in RCX but now on Windows 7 x64, with an ATI FirePro and I'm clearly seeing the same issue.

Easily visible from frames 357-379 as the talent's ear passes through the "line"

Exported from RCX to a dpx sequence and opened in NUKE for something different. Still there.

Keep us posted! I'd be interested to see if you can duplicate this error
 
Just looked at the frames again. I don't have a line. I'd post your video card/hardware specs and see if this is a potential bug in RCX. I don't believe it's a problem with your camera.

Think it could be the file I downloaded somehow missing data? I tried the same file on OSX Lion with Nvidia Quadro cards, as well as on windows 7 (same r3d file transferred via USB drive) with ATI FirePro cards. Both in RCX builds 506 and 5.17513 beta
Or maybe something common on my workstations... weird.
 
Hm... im trying to figure out if I could have put it in drop box wrong or maybe messed with a bad file...

I have no idea.

eh, i wouldn't worry if you're not having the problem with your original data from the ssd and a few other people can view it ok. I downloaded it at work and our internet connection there is spotty at best some days..maybe it dropped some data when i was dl'ing.

Consider it a mystery that went away :)

I originally downloaded your R3D file and seen nothing like that at all, somewhere along the line something went koko.

You know today i was doing some compositing with two helicopters and this flash frame kept popping up no matter what i tried. So i restarted the program then it was gone.

Thats technology for you, it will never be perfect...like us
 
Im going to shoot some tests tonight, so the next time I post, ill have some grabs for you guys!

Here is a screen grab from 3k 48fps.

We didn't have many lights available to us. just a 250 and a 650 chimeria. Background is lit with a lamp :-|
