She said this on Twitter:

"The girlfriend experience is available on demand/vod today!! Directed by Steven Soderbergh, and yours truly as the lead! In theatres may 22."

What is she talking about? Where can I get this? :violent:

If it's true, she'll be the first porn star to truly make a cross over into Hollywood.
Good for her! Excuse me I have to go find my fluffer.

I bet it's on HDnet

This is likely the case...the film is currently playing in the Tribeca Film Festival, and it is one of six films Soderbergh is making with Magnolia/2929 (owned by the same guys who own HDnet, Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner) that were originally set to be released Day-and-Date...this was the controversial move to release VOD, DVD and theatrical on the same date. It does seem odd that the film is said to have a theatrical release in May. Maybe it's playing in Landmark theaters now?

HDNet Movies is showing it on Wednesday, May 20th only. Set your DVRs!

Variety:

With characteristic eclecticism, Steven Soderbergh follows "Che," his sweeping four-hour epic about a revolutionary hero, with "The Girlfriend Experience," a small-scale, digitally shot 77-minute chamber piece about a high-priced prostitute. Despite the pic's erotic subject matter and star (vet porn diva Sasha Grey), nothing could be less sensationalistic -- or moralistic -- than this fascinating study of free enterprise in free fall. While it may disappoint thrill-seekers, "Girlfriend" should still delight Soderbergh fans and niche auds. Sundance-sneaked (in rough cut) and officially preeming at Tribeca before a May 22 opening, this arthouse gem finds the helmer in top, and truly topical, form.

Steven Soderbergh chooses a 'red' 'revolution' camera to shoot the birth of a communist government and Sasha as a girlfriend experience. I love this directors artistic statements that are buried in the very infrastructure of his film productions.

And you follow this porn star's Twitter posts because...?

um, well, you see... you know... because, uh, she shot a movie on Red. and stuff. :blush2:

Thanks for the heads up! I definitely need to following any actress who's been on Red...

Sasha Grey at the Blown Up picture>>>

"...she’s the ideal girlfriend—a poised and personable ingénue—which is more or less the role that Sasha Grey,
reader of Thomas Pynchon, composer of "noise music," and winner of the 2008 AVN Award for Best Oral Sex Scene, has in "life."

I didn't see it on HDnet. Is this available for download, or at iTunes or anything?

My dad is a manager for the backend of Verizon FIOS and he checked their VOD system and its not there.

In between you can watch something like that or even similar like that in

Vincent's Gallo "The Brown Bunny" on DVD

with Vincent Gallo (Bud Clay) and Chloë Sevigny (Daisy).

Actually my favorite scene in that real indie movie shot on Aaton 16mm is when Vincent Gallo "madly" drives his Honda racing motorbike on Salt Desert... :sifone:

BTW, after that movie Vincent Gallo became a cult fashion advertising star (YSL, H&M, etc,..)

and latest he played a main role in

"Tetro" directed by Francis Ford Coppola,

a movie to be premiered at Cannes 2009 in one of official selections.

Also 9 Songs from British director Michael Winterbottom (shot on DVX100 and Sony PD 170) was quite interesting "indie" movie with the same sort of direction...
