What is the lens furthest to the right?

Is that an Optimo DP?

Evin's bad ass optimo 30-80

Niiice!

Evin, can you share the final list of lenses that got into the test as a teaser?

It looks more like 28-76 since it doesn't have the red rings. ?

You can make a custom order in red, black or blue rings with both Angenieux digital zoom lenses Optimo range as 30-80, 16-42.

Impressive!!!

I'm sure that Nikon G beats Canon EF, than Leica beats a both of them optically and at the end Angenieux Optimos beat all of them together mechanically just because they are a real cine lenses (zooms).

Thanks Matt D and Evin - That was a good day and we accomplished a huge amount of testing.

Here's what we did:

Matt Duclos Projected each lens on the Duclos lens projector - looked at distortion, center and edge resolution, contrast and for presence of CA we also had a look at
the lenses mechanics, for image shift, zoom tracking, and backlash in the focus mechanism.

Evin shot each lens in a similar frame of a model at f2.8 in open shade. We varied the distance as appropriate for each focal length.

I shot an interior shot at 5000k, there are a variety of mid ground objects, some background objects the usual xmas lights, and a foreground expanded metal grill.
After shooting a few seconds of the mid ground we racked front to back, then did a flare test by moving a bare lightbulb on a bamboo pole around in the frame. Lenses were shot wide open and at 2.8.

We did our best when possible to make direct comparisons between lenses of a particular focal length.... Not changing camera position or lighting between lens changes. The shutter was used instead of ND to vary exposure for different stops.

Jarred loaned us a prototype Red Nikon mount which worked great and has the same tensioning ring that the EF mount has. Nice guy, nice Piece of gear.
