  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Revealing Production Premium CS6

No, no native stereoscopic features in Premiere Pro CS6. SpeedGrade and After Effects, yes.

Anything new for After Effects in terms of stereo 3D?

Looking for something like Nuke / Fusion that allows you to put effects on stereo footage / 3D renders - eg choose to apply an effect on both eyes or only L or R.

Do you still need a separate composition for L eye and a separate composition for R eye? That becomes a mess pretty quickly.

Does it take advantage of more than one graphic card? Love that the io card now should get the love from mercury too!

Only one GPU is used for CUDA/OpenCL processing.

If you have a Maximus configuration, you can use one card for CUDA computation and the other card for OpenGL/display processing.

They have been so difficult to reach and then they said fill out a form and wait 3 days, surely something better can be done.

Hate to say it, but your whining about the cost of upgrading what was already a heavily discounted educational license here in this thread is misplaced.
I'd much rather read about new capabilities of CS6

Well, here's hoping you add support for multiple GPUs (for CUDA processing) soon...

Do you have a release date?

Will Speedgrade support the Avid/Euphonix MC Color control panel?

With CS5/5.5 I found that Premiere worked great with Red footage until you put an I/O card in it, at that point the Red Rocket card was no longer being used and all you now had to render almost everything. Do you have a sample configuration (similar to how Resolve break it out http://www.blackmagic-design.com/media/3358649/Resolve Win Config Guide Mar 2012.pdf) that would keep realtime workspace with professional monitoring via I/O card(s)?

Nice then you can have a slower graphic card for the display and faster for cuda just like in Resolve. Is this correct?

Very nice. Looks like a powerful package.
Thank you for your work, guys.

just call them. put your phone on speaker until you're off hold. talk to service representative. done.

no need to make it harder than it is. Adobe is actually pretty good at responding to customer service questions.

and, by the way, if you pay for educational price packages, you usually have to purchase upgrades...this is fairly standard across the industry. just sayin.

and also, by the way, this upgrade looks like a bloody marvel. I can't wait to finish up the project that I'm working on, in a much lesser NLE, so that I can dig into this package and get up to speed on all of the bells and whistles.

Thank you, David!

We rewrote this entire workflow. No more AJA/Matrox/Blackmagic timelines. You now just use PPro and all its goodness and select your favorite hardware when they release their drivers and you can push anything out. A whole new experience. We refer to this as Mercury Transmit. It will make people on here very very happy as you guys have helped shape this feature with your complaints ;)

Cheers

Dave

Excellent. Hats off.

Have the bugs been fixed where you use keyframed time-remapping on a clip and try to keyframe a video effect on top, and the video effect keyframes occuring where you actually place them? I've been writing this bug report since CS5 and it never got fixed in 5.5

Hi Guys,

We have been super busy this past year... I can finally now tell you what we have been up to...

Hope you enjoy!

1. What are the rolling shutter values for Scarlet and Epic for the new rolling shutter tool?

2. Is there a feature comparison between Resolve and SpeedGrade?

3. Is SpeedGrade nodal, or does it just use layers (btw - I'd strongly prefer nodes).

BTW - very glad I switched from FCP!
