  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Redrock microMatteBox shipping news

Hi Bassam (and everyone)

We are looking to wrap up a bit of a delay finalizing some product details - we are committed to the base configuration targeted around $500 US so it looks like we will probably end up with 2 stages instead of 3 as the base configuration. You can of course add a third stage (or more) as an option. Once we finalize these details we will have a revised shipping date for you and everyone here

Also - on another note someone asked about our side wings - yes they are two-part and expandable

Happy Holidays to everyone

Thanks for an update
Yes, the option for the third stage is vital to us, so it's great to hear it stays as an option.

Any updates from RedRock.

Patiently waiting....

Okay,

it is true that I'm (very unfortunately) kind of experiencing a situation, but after trying to deal in the purchase of the ARRI MB20 II system for my REDs... well in off is in off.

At this point RR MB is the only thing I'm looking at.

So, Brian, Please!!! Get this MBs shipping, I need 3 complete sets ( and I mean complete ).

Can you give as an update?

BTW, I hope your festivities were great, now just start shipping this MBs already, we want them.

I know that the people interested in renting their gear and concerned to the clients wanting to see the Arri brand may not buy your MB anyway, but on the other hand I truly believe that if they started shipping and people would post actual photos and reviews of them, they will change their mind quicly wile saving several thousand $$$ in the process.

As for me I don't care of the clients, I'm the client.

Always with respect for you and your work of course Brian.

Yeah Cinewalt exactly.

Beside I also got frustrated with the fact that I can choose of getting a huge MB + a second smaller one and possibly a third for light configuration work.

That's 3 MBs per each camera 9 for me, just so I can cover all aspects of filming and available filters which I will use extensively in the 4x.564, 5.65x5.65 and 6x6 configurations for the different lenses I will (hopefully) end up with for my REDs.

Well guess what?

Now I don't have to deal with it any more, I will get 3 RR MBs one for each of my REDs and just buy the different filer trays and with the RR MB I can put on any of RED lenses, all the range of ARRI's MASTER PRIMES and even the widest LDS ULTRA PRIME with the 156mm front element diameter.
GREAT!

BTW, Brian does the RR MB supports the 19mm rods configuration?

It would be nice if Brian could give us an update.

But he did confirm earlier that support for 19mm would happen. I'm not sure if it will happen initially or if that's something that will come later.

I plan to go with the Redrock mattebox, as well. . . I'm STILL trying to figure out what rails diameter to go with. Talk about confusing! My RED looks like it will be outfitted with the Birger Canon mount and the RR mattebox. Maybe I'm a fool, but if the Birger works the way I'm hoping, I won't have to deal with a follow focus at all. And since I am expecting my RED to ship sometime next month (# just under 800), I hope everyone gets their shipments going!

Stephen where are you located, or where do you do the most of your shooting?

My gut is telling me that you want 15mm rods.
