  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Redrock microMatteBox shipping news

Hi everyone

Here's a quick update - I may have covered some of this before, but it's a good time to recap.

We are in full production now, with no remaining issues. The next thing that happens is products in your hands! We did run into a production snag which pushed the date a bit. All the specs still hold true on the microMB - the few changes are that the base configuration that is targeted around $500 will now have two stages (both rotating) with the third stage as an optional add-on.

There will be side wings and a bottom flag available as options as well. we will probably also offer a fully kitted out version with all wings and flags as well to simplify ordering.

The stages themselves can support up to 6x6 filter trays. In the initial release we will have trays for 4x4" and 4.565". We will followup with other larger trays and prioritize according to what customers request.

We will have the 19mm rod option - working towards having it available at launch, though it is not confirmed at this point. The 15mm option will of course be immediately available.

Timing at this point looks like first units could be in hands by March. While that's a bit farther out, the good news is the time from the first 50 to the shipping the rest of the reservations will be much shorter - probably 4 weeks or less. We had anticipated that being much longer. Again please allow me to reiterate this is a brand new product, and delivery times are subject to continuing change, so if you need something by a specific date, please do not place a reservation. Our aim is to put out an amazing matte box at a truly new price point.

Also, the reservation list will be closing soon, so if you are interested, now is the time to get on the list

unfortunately for me ( even so I like your product and did so since first seen at Cinegear ) I surely can not wait till march/april to get my MBs.

I guess for me back to ARRI since also RED MB it is still a Ghost.

But all said Brian I wish you best of lock with your sales ( not that you needed ).

Happy to provide the update -

As for the rest of the package pricing, not set yet (though soon to be) but it's probably not difficult to surmise from a target of $500 for the base when looking at add-ons. Charging a fortune for the accessories is not only "not revolutionarY" but also unethical, methinks :)

You will have to PM Brian as I have no idea what my RES. # is and if He will be willing to do that.

I wryly was looking forward to the RR MB but I can not stay 2 to 3 months with out MBs on my cameras and I'm not willing to get some crap just so I get by to when the RR MB comes out.
