REDRAY Comments

uhm do we know what the upper slot is for? off the shelf SSDs?

who are you calling a sleeper? hehehe!

that's what I wanted to hear! not that I needed it here - I'm upping to 50 or 100 MB/s hehehe! but there are still some people out of major cities, who really have to fight for every KB/s

I think there may be some misunderstanding. 2.5 MB/s is 20 Mbps. 20 Mbps is quite a bit higher than the average internet speed in the US.

Sorry the photo is a bit tricky.. thats not a slot, that is the IR window for the remote... we made it big so you don't need to stand on your head to point the remote just the right way.

That said.. most people likely will be using the tablet app to control it. When you have a tablet.. you can do all sorts of really cool things like find content on the tablet and send it to the screen.

My mistake. Still! 4K for this price at that data rate with that easy of use and those outputs . . . seems like a great deal to me.

Oh, I agree. It's a great deal.

One of the huge factors that made RED cameras succeed was REDCODE compression. They are doing the same with the new .RED codec, but this codec is even more revolutionary.

OMIGOD! Its ODEMAX!!

This may just be more exciting than when I opened the black box from RED and pulled out my EPIC.

that is why Odemax has fiber nodes placed in the major points across the US and Globally ( see the map ) to help distribute the loads. The average internet connetion in the US is pretty low.. but likely not for the demographic that is going to buy this player.

No gymnastics anymore aaaaw ... good for the love handles.

Seems so obvious and yet I've never seen anyone else do that. Great idea.

If you want to playback using redray you must use ODEMAX?

No... You don't need to use ODEMAX if you are not distributing your content.

You can create .RED files on your computer etc... put them on a SD card or USB or blast them over your internal network to playback just like they were regular files. If you want to then distribute them, you upload those to the ODEMAX network for distribution and key generation.
