On the October 5th weekend at 9 am we are holding a complete Redone- hands on training demo. From image aqausition to final delivery.

IMAGED ACUASITION- We will shoot on the red drive's (if available) and CF cards, on all formats available, with all lenses available. INT. DAY, INT. NIGHT, EXT. DAY, EXT NIGHT. Custom scenes, charts, and various subjects.

Everyone that brings a proper CF card can shoot some samples and take footage home with you to play with at your own leasure (depending if we have enough time)

We will do a light primary CC if Redcine is available on both an Intel Mac, and an Intel PC. Then we will ingest the footage into and edit on respectively- FCP, PP, Vegas, and Avid.

Then we will CC with FCP's Color, and Scratch to allow the attendees to see the difference in workflow.

Finally we will output to a 2k projector, HD cam 1080p master, Blue Ray Disc, and DVD. And view the footage.

the only thing missing are the lenses, charts, lighting and props, monitors, studio space, Intel Mac, Intel PC, FCP, PP, Vegas, Avid, FCP's Color, Scratch, 2k projector, HD cam deck, Blue Ray Disk burner and disk, a couple colorist, a few editors, some AC's, DP's that are used working with Digital.

Besides that I have everything. I'll bring my #87 Red One with the optional CF slot and 2 8GB CF cards that your all welcome to shoot on.

A few more Red ones, perhaps Red lenses would be great.

Thanks

Yes, post if you can attend and if there's anything you can bring. I believe we can collaboratively realize this

I could bring a Glidecam V20 (vest-type) and a portable jib (EZFX) if desired. Additionally, I'd like to test encode to VC-1 for HD DVD to see how consumer delivery of RED / 4k source looks.

Please let me know any details!

Thanks,

Is this 100% confirmed, or still pending. I am planning to fly down from Canada to attend this function, and I would hate for it to be called off after i book my ticket...where is it exactly....los angeles?

As of right now it is not 100% confirmed. Hopefully, if the missing peaces can come together quickly it can be 100% by Friday

Vladimir

If it gets confirmed on Friday, i am buying my ticket.

And I will then confirm that i am coming with the portable final cut system. As part of that, I will bring a 1.5 terabyte drive to download CD Cards to.

Also, I will bring some beer. At the prices you Americans get it for, this is not a problem!

Depending on the date, I may be able to provide a MacPro (Quad 2.66 with a small 600gb internal RAID) and (2) 24" Dell 2407s. It may or may not be tied to a project. Again, depends on the date.

EDIT: Okay, my desktop system will be unavailable. But I can add my MacBook Pro with FCS2 to the mix.

I would like to participate as well! Thanks. Not sure what I can offer but if we have access to the Birger Canon adaptor, I could provide all the Canon EF prime lenses in my bag if we want to play with those. I can bring the following: 24 1.4, 50 1.4, 85 1.2, 135 2.0, 200 1.8 to cover a range. Let me know and thanks again.

Ronnie

We should also have a few CF readers to offload/copy the footage to people bringing the cards. Most people won't have fast enough CF cards to shoot directly to them. I have a CF reader to bring but since it sounds like we'll have quite a few MB pros, we should have two CF slots (two readers or one reader with two slots) for each to facilitate the copies.

I think people could bring thumb drives/portable drives as well.

Good Ideal Thom.
