Raphael, it's pretty easy to do. I've been doing tests the past couple days and it's working great. Here is the workflow we've been doing that works perfectly:
1. Duplicate your final sequence in FCP and label new one "Prepped." Prep this one by collapsing all video tracks down to 1 layer. Remove all FX, dissolves, titles, etc.
2. Export XML. Standard settings.
3. Go to RC-X and choose "Import FCP XML." It will open the "Preferences" window. Choose the folder where your original R3D files are at the top by selecting "Change." Next, choose your frame rate, change "Destination" to "Timeline" and click "OK." It will bring up your finder window where you then select the FCP XML you saved.
4. All clips will now be in timeline. Go through and color correct all clips.
5. Under "Export," choose "Timeline (separate clips)" and I assume you have a Preset for HD or ProRez. (We do 23.98, ProRez most often). When it asks, save the clips to a folder called "XYZ_ColorCorrected" or something of that nature. It will then export all of the clips individually into that folder.
6. Now, just go back into FCP, choose the clips and "reconnect" the media to the new clips that you just exported. Due to the 1 frame error now, it will give you an error message to click through. Just say fine to that and all of your FCP clips now see the newly color corrected clips.
*The one deal, that I was surprised at, is that ALL of your previous sequences will also be now connected to your color corrected clips, even if you reconnected only the timeline clips. Odd and unexpected. So, the only way around this is before you export the XML, just rename the project and then export an XML. That way, your old project would keep the uncorrected clips as-is.
Hope that helps. I've been emailing Deanan about getting a little better way of using handles as right now, I have not gotten those to work. If you have crossfades now, you'd have to manually add the frames before you export the XML doc and then manually put the clips back in to account for the crossfade frames.
Good luck. It's been working flawlessly with us so far.
