Why choose a name that could potentially cause trouble for your customers?

Love the concept, line of thought behind it, expressed in Jim's quote. Don't like the name because, like someone stated, can bring to people in certain parts of the world bad connotations. Red is about cinema, about a world of Movie Magic acquired by the best tool in the world, done with passion, with groundbreaking and maverick attitude, against the status quo. Dragon was a brilliant name because it just fit so well with the brand, as well as Epic.

The name is actually refreshing, quite frankly. We live in a leftist, castrated, politically correct country now. I'm all for a name that harkons back to the good old days when men could be men and we could do some shit kicking without having the PC police start a shit storm against us!!!

Mike

Yeah! The good old days when women couldn't vote, certain people knew their place and the world was awesome for everybody*.

*Everybody who was a white property owning christian heterosexual man.

hahahaha. Yup

Whatever name gets it in my hands faster...

Much ado about nothing. Less than 200 votes has basically zero statistical significance.

Personally, like the name. Even if I didn't, Red should name it whatever they want - it is their creation.

Not true. Higher margins of error, but still significant. You can pretty easily say that well over half the people either like or would be willing to a accept a name change.

Call it Barbara Bush-- it doesn't matter. Obviously, specs talk. An interesting, creative tag just gives it character. Go to town.. Either way, I can't wait!

maybe they should call it the "RED TULIP", would that make everyone feel warm and fuzzy?

I hope they do change the name, because I can state unequivocally that it makes the difference between buying a system and not.
I will not support the "weapon" mentality under any circumstances..

I'm not just voiting in this poll. I am voting with my feet.

Actually I know others who are not very vocal here who have identical reactions.
Which is a fair thing.

RED has always been asking us to vote with our wallets.

Whether the poll is official or not, Red users have spoken.

Will Red listen?

Polls are about statistical sampling. There is a clear trend. Doesn't mean RED will act but it is significant.

Actually, no it is not. Significant would be greater than the miniscule percent of overall Red users who have spoken. What this poll currently is the opposite of significant. Forum posters are a tiny demographic. Bias your actions based on their noisy opinions at your own peril.

So you are saying we should guess what the people who haven't spoken would say if they had bothered to speak and based our opinions on what we think they might say?

Yeah... sounds like a plan. LOL

Wanna guess how many people they poll for major elections when there are quite literally tens of millions of people in the polling universe?
