Like when Apple went from big cats to national parks Red could go from assault hardware to..... maybe butterflies. How about Monarch, or tiger swallow? ;)

Could you please add to this a fourth option-

Whatever the name is have a remove badge option at purchase.

JANNARD! just posted "We are at war with conventional thinking." My interpretation of that is "Leave the name as it stands."

OOOOH - 'Chrysalis' as your Dragon morphs into a new beast.

Maybe even have Spinal Tap play live as RED announces it at NAB...

Indeed!

Except pragmatically speakin..it will still depend on cost of upgrade.

Craftsman makes a badge remover. It's called a screwdriver. If folks don't like it they can pop it off themselves.

Wonder if that would void the warranty? '-)

Keep the Skull - with the 'W' logo in it - change to 'Warrior' - or keep Weapon... or change it to something else....

Guess my vote is fairly obvious.

Now, can we have some more info soon please? :)

Ahh - rename RED Weapon to RED Warranty.... bet that'll confuse the Bomb Squad

Don´t want to cause trouble, but changing the name would be unconventional… I was already surprised to see the poll-suggestion.

In a world where we "shoot" images and load "mags" I'm not finding a huge issue with the name what so ever.

However, I do understand other's concerns.

Which option is more worth it to you?

1. Change the name and potentially back up production times due to design changes.
2. Leave it as is and be able to get the camera as originally projected.

Personally I think that option 2 is by far the better one. No one should buy a camera for its name. It should be bought for the images it takes.

+1

...And Red was the original armorer of a film making rebellion. It all makes sense to me.

Pure speculation...

I could as accurately give you the option of (**sarcasm warning**)

1) being taken away in chains because a TSA agent doesn't believe your story about a camera
2) living happily ever after because your camera has a pure and gentle name

JANNARD! just posted "We are at war with conventional thinking." ......

...out of the blue, he posts "We are at war with conventional thinking"

The new camera is their "WEAPON" for waging said war. This is a vernacular that has always and will always be used in this way.

I'm fine with the name, but will get in line to buy it regardless.
