3.11.2015 -- that is the date when the inner circle leaves the beta phase and it officially starts. I'm not convinced that this was meant to be a RED Weapon teaser. ...but yes, his use of RED Cameras has increased )

Orrrrrrr... we could just wait to get the straight poop from the free inner circle here on REDuser. The guy's website may be worth it to folks who are into any and all cameras, but being RED centric and only RED centric, if Jarred or Phil etc. were to charge a fee, I would possibly join.

Otherwise, I expect to get all necessary information right here.

I think his website and Inner Circle are definitely interesting to someone like me, who's not a pro, or even really working in the industry. He has all sorts of information on different lighting techniques, blogs about work he's done on set, and just general information on how the whole industry works. His pod casts where he answers member's questions are also really useful and I appreciate his willingness to share all this information and that he does so passionately.

I'm sure some of you don't need it, and could probably run your own Inner Circles even!

And yes, now I can't wait for the 18th.

Do note that quote is referencing a specific Instagram photograph.

The only word seen in reference to the videos is "enhancements" to Shane's Inner Circle.

I understand about the need to upgrade to the minimag SSDs themselves (the mags).

But - will we be able to upgrade a Red Dragon camera and include the regular 1.8" Side SSD MODULE in the upgrade? I remember I saw this somewhere, but I can't find it.

Seriously hoping ProRes XQ is handled straight out of the camera with the Weapon. I love R3D, but native ProRes output would really help with the workflow...

Yes, the 18th sounds more like a preview date, closer to NAB. I look forward to it. News exactly at NAB get mostly lost into the overall mix, more and more companies release a little bit earlier "news" since a while.

It should be a payment at the time your upgrade is invoiced when you send in your camera -- assuming we send in a camera. They may have Weapon "upgrade" options where we get to keep our camera, similar to the Stage-2 EPIC upgrades. We will most likely have to put in a refundable deposit when placing our upgrade order.

This is a main point of interest to me as well. From what I can gather a kitted out Weapon will weigh less than a kitted out Dragon due to more previous "module" functions being incorporated into the brain housing.

But I'm curious how much a functioning Weapon Brain Housing will weigh?

I know this question is a little bit off-topic but it's unlikely that the RED Weapon will be available before july right?

Only RED knows for sure, but there could be some in the channel by July. It seems that they want to shut off the MX to Dragon upgrades sometime in June/July to convert those production lines over to Weapon.

I want my 27 stop, color constant, focus and excposure free, 8k with smooth night vision, medium format with multipoint 3D, recording in 50 mb/s lossless pocket camera, but nobody will give me the money to fund it.
