  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED WEAPON - Info and Data Sheets

It's kinda killing me. I'm just upgraded my scarlet to an epic about 2 months ago. I was late to the game I know but now I gotta drop another 10k to stay relevant. The thing that sucks from where I'm standing because the dragon doesn't off anything beyond the epic, for my needs and the way I use it. So it's a 10k upgrade for a name plate for me. Doh!
 
Matt, guess again :) I'm pretty certain your name plate theory is not the case. Whether it is something that you will want to have is something different though ;) but you can still wait for NAB to find out.
 
Of course I know the dragon is an upgrade... Luckily I can read so I'm very aware of the differences between the epic and dragon, I'm just saying the extra stuff it brings isn't worth the cost of the up grade... for me. I'm beyond thrilled with the epic and I know I'll love the dragon too, I just don't need it. I also know I came late to the upgrade game with my scarlet to the epic. Had I done it a year or more ago, this would feel like a next step.
 
Everybody is talking about the fact that you can upgrade from Epic to Dragon (later the weapon) but not later than NAB.

I do not know if it was clear that the upgrade will be done to those who wait until the first day of the NAB, or until the last day of NAB?

Personally, I’m not sure if I would upgrade from Epic to Dragon (only to remain with Dragon) as long as I do not know the Weapon specs.

But if we have those specs at NAB, I can pay the upgrade to Dragon in order to upgrade later to Weapon?

Yeah, I hope we get the info on what weapon is just before NAB. This would be the best case.

I can answer your question 100%. You will need to upgrade to Dragon first (meaning sending your camera in to Red) and then upgrade to Weapon.

Do remember that Red is offering the "early adopter" price of the Mysterium-X to Dragon upgrade prior to NAB at the moment. After NAB that price goes up. This is the discount you are getting for that "leap of faith".
 
Hmm, is there going to be a dragon weapon camera as the new design body at some point in the future?
 
3.11.2015 -- that is the date when the inner circle leaves the beta phase and it officially starts.

I'm not convinced that this was meant to be a RED Weapon teaser. ...but yes, his use of RED Cameras has increased :o)

To all the RED owners who got into the game over the course of the last year....I too have only been around as a RED owner for about 9 months. I totally understand your views and/or concerns with respect to the Dragon upgrade. I bought my 1st scarlet back in the summer and I later upgraded to the Epic in October. I was quite satisfied with the Epic until I got my hands on a Dragon at a rental house and I almost lost my mind considering that.. I came from a 5D Mark III. The dragon is just a great camera. With the deadline approaching for the Dragon Upgrade, I pulled the trigger last week. I continue to ask myself......... what more can we get out of a camera soon to be known as the weapon ? I'm not sure....but I defintley want in. Just my thoughts!!

Hi everyone,

Does the $9500 Epic Mx to Epic Dragon upgrade price last until NAB? or will it stay that price until Dragon Upgrades end late June 2015?
 
I believe the final date that the payment needs to be made to RED for the Dragon Upgrade is April 10 and/or 11...right before NAB. The payment must be processed....give your Bombsquad REP a call to confirm.
 
So...any details from Shane's Inner Circle? Anyone a member?
 
Sad to say I ponied up for the $8. Nothing regarding Red, actually no new relevant content of any kind. Pretty cool stuff from Shane but nothing about Red. That teaser video seems to have really meant nothing.
 
hmmm. Maybe there will be more coming in future episodes OR they simply used a Red case just to make that shot look "Top Secret" since our boxes are cool.
