Other observations and comments... My system was silent until I installed the RED Rocket™. I love the new interface on ROCKETCINE-X. And while I love it overall and I know you guys are proud of it, the large white "ROCKETCINE-X" at the top of the screen is a little distracting. Does it have to be so large? Or can it be made a more subdued shade of grey? But please don't go changing that instead of working on all the other goodies. ...Sorry, I'm just in a nit-picky mood this morning.

Btw, that top bar slides out of the way and it's gone in full screen mode where it really matters

Jeff, Can you use the RR with your 285GTX?

Yes, installed and running. I haven't routed the SDI cables out though as all my slots are full and I don't have a need for them just yet. I have a few ideas of how to go about doing it. Most of which were discussed in this thread at some point. The easiest would probably be to drill two holes in the side panel and take the SDI ports out of the slot filler and screw them into the holes on the side panel. Simple, elegant professional just having two ports on the side of your Mac. Unfortunately, I believe that would void the AppleCare. So I may try to pick up a spare side panel. Or I can route a couple extension cables out through the lower optical bay since I'm not using it on this system. I have a few other ideas that I haven't really explored just yet.

You guys who haven't played with the Rocket yet are in for a treat. When we were doing tests at REDucation we were having a hard time finding clips long enough for our rudimentary method of timing (looking at the file creation time and seeing how many existed in 1 minute) because the clips would process to fast and not span a complete minute on the system clock

I'm in the same boat but at least I received the confirmation email from Brian today, so I went ahead and told Apple Store Ginza event person that I can show the RR on August 18th. They asked me to do the RED ONE related event once a month, so you should provide something interesting enough every month, hehe (I know I know, you do offer more than enough).

Our RED Rocket demo at REDucation was a big hit. Man, that thing sings!

Watching the folders populate with fresh DPXs at blazing speeds was stunning. Thanks so much for getting one out to us. The entire class was so excited to be some of the first on the planet to witness the power of RED Rocket on a 4K projector.
