RED Roadmap...

[Eirik Tyrihjel]

Whatever you do, I am in!

[Antonio Forjaz]

three of those look very exciting

RED Ray
RED Projection

and Dragon...

now, what are those surprises? we all will just have to wait

[Justin Kirchhoff]

If you're excited then I'm excited. That's enough for me to be a part of this program.

[Douglas Learner]

If you are nervous, you are not committed.

Jim

LOL!

[Billy Barber]

I should be committed for believing in a 12K Epic.

[Steve Wake]

If you are nervous, you are not committed.

Jim

I am so serene that the dimension of earthly time has melded with the intrinsic harmonies of the universe.

[Marek.Vesely]

Brilliant news today! I'm super excited about this roadmap.. bring it on!

[Lawrence Bansbach]

Sorry to blow your bubble, but $30k is not for the home market. For a true consumer product the price must be under $5k.

Well under $5K; otherwise, Pioneer would still be producing Kuro plasma displays.

[Zharmane Washington]

I wish they brought camp red to
Michigan that would be a gift

Can't wait for these as well!

Kegan

[Maik Müller]

Thanks for the Roadmap.
Yes, i'm excited too, not that i wasn't before....

[Joel Arvidsson]

Seams like everything goes at the right direction!!

[Christian Jadot]

I can't wait to see what is ahead!

[Joel Arvidsson]

Is this list chronological or in random order?

What good is a roadmap that is random?

[Meryem Ersoz]

I would like to see a copy of the Sony roadmap...

ignore what RED is doing

openly scoff at what RED is doing

wake up

watch what RED is doing

deliver something similar, only at a substantially higher price and five years later

try to grab credit for what RED has already done and is already shipping

ship first camera to Otto Nemenz

watch market share erode

[Michael Olsen]

Heeeeey...this looks like fun! Jim - things must be ridiculously exciting over at RED HQ these days. It sounds like a lot is going on...all at once!

[Enrique Blein]

Maybe the Red One will have its boards revamped and will bear all the benefits of an Epic-S????

[Steinar Andersen]

you got some lenses to go with those 645 and 617 sensor too;p?

[Mark Pugh]

Jim, what about Full Frame 35mm 6K+ with 3:2 aspect ratio sensor? I don't see FF 35 on the list?

If that's what Dragon is, that's REALLY great news.

[Pierre T.]

The surprise is today already :-/

The surprise is today already :-/

No EPIC-S alias Scarlet S35 in the list. Not really a surprise if you think it through (and since the announcement that RED will not serve a consumer market), but the reactions show that people have not forgotten it. In fact, I might have bought one with a Canon mount. Scarlet with fixed lens is no replacement and Epic X is definitely a different budget.

The step is nonetheless understandable : In silently letting disappear the EPIC-S, the turned in Red Ones keep their value and can still be sold. EPIC-S would have rendered Red One "obsolete" and unsellable the day they were put to market.

The Red Company may be not as different as claimed, after all ...
