RED ONE / DSMC 1 upgrade program finally has an end date.

ill be keeping my red one ..too bad you won't be supporting it .. guess when it breaks its obsolete .. another piece of modern crap destined for a landfill ..

as for dragon ..ive already upgraded my dragon to just over a hectare of agricultural land in north Yorkshire .. should hold its value a bit better ..

Ha ha ha... Please forget about expressing the legit concern... @Jarred would just give us Good and Bad news. He doesnt respond to any concerns. I expressed my concerns and i have seen others expressing their concerns too...

I deleted all my postings since i wasnt( who ever expressed their concerns about DSMC1 support) getting any response. Have to live with it.

Do not take me wrong, it is a legit concern. I value very much the offer, but to upgrade our three cameras it comes to 60k. Besides we would have to upgrade our two editing bays to handle 8k. It took us long time to get the workflow where we are now. we edit native realtime. Most of our projects are delivered in HD and some 4K. Upgrading would add the good things of the new and better sensor but it means a huge and obligated expense for us that for the moment our clients do not require. If our cameras break, most likely is the end of the road for us, we would go back and rent cameras instead of buying them like 10 years ago.

Do not take me wrong, it is a legit concern. I value very much the offer, but to upgrade our three cameras it comes to 60k. Besides we would have to upgrade our two editing bays to handle 8k. To upgrade which cameras? Your Epic-MXs? you can upgrade all 3 to Scarlet-Ws for 30k right now. that is much less painful of a price mark and again maintains the resolution restrictions you have.

The upgrade train is just that.. a Train. We offer the upgrade program to bring all of you along for the ride because we value you all. But the train moves.. you gotta get on the train if you want to head down the tracks.. if you decide not to get on the train it's not that fair to ask for it to turn around for you a few years later to pick you up ( even though we are actually offering to do just that )

Interesting. I don't see this option listed on the upgrades page. Does this apply to all M and MX sensored cameras including Red One?

So excited about the sensor exchange program! I've fallen in love with the Helium sensor and i love have two 8K helium camera for dual camera shoots and was debating about buying another helium once my VV dragon sensor became available. Now with swapping i can have the best of both worlds. I still might by another camera though .

$10k upgrade for your M or MX whatever to Scarlet-W, or $12k for the Scarlet-W brain, Canon Mount and Base V-lock Expander.

Give Brent a bit to get this sorted.. I just dropped this bomb on his lap ( as usual ) and he will let you know when you can start calling in.

There is no Epic-X 8K...I think you mean Epic-W 8K...that is a completely different animal from Epic-X which had an MX sensor and shot 5K.

Hey Jarred, sounds like you have some nifty things coming up for the DSMC2 cameras. I've been very content with my MG Weapon. I know the MG is an odd camera in the lineup, but will it be included in the upcoming advancements? Thanks again for letting customers sit around the RED campfire.
