Yeah but the R1 had 650 Gig hard drives and a SD card module also, Why should they waste more time and money on CF cards after giving 3 major ways to record data?

Just for your information, before is too late, RED has confirmed that after July they won't be offering trade in/upgrade service for DSCM to DSCM 2 anymore, and the technical repair service for DSCM will only last until they run out of parts.
Trying to help all RED DSCM owners as they have not made it official.

Scot, we have only announced RED ONE/DSMC1 MYSTERIUM and M-X have sunsetted . From OP in this thread from over a year ago…

Our repair program for R1 and DSMC1 cameras that use the M or MX sensors will come to an end shortly after that as well as we no longer are manufacturing repair parts for those cameras

So if you have been on the fence of upgrading your older bodies to DSMC2, now is probably a good time.

DSMC1 DRAGON, we will give you a heads up before that is sunset as well. But no date has been predetermined at this time.

As Jarred has said many times on upgrade offers, “all good things come to an end.” At this point in time, we do not have a date for this. I would think you still have a fair amount of time (i.e., more than “days” or “weeks”) esp given the fact we still have a pretty big backorder queue of folks wanting to move into DSMC2 GEMINI….
