Red in France

Nouvelle Vague?

Nouvelle Vague?

bonjour,

what's going on with the Rouge Nouvelle Vague? Has a group been formed? Just people meeting? Are you making any films?

i'm going to be moving to paris in about a month and am very interested in being involved. i am hopefull that since it has been about a 100 years since the last great modern movement in paris with Picasso, Matisse,... that now is the time for the second redefining moment.

j'entends le français, mais ne peux pas parler trop bien. je parle le français ' l'enfants ". :)

meine deutsche ist sehr gut gesprachen und verstandingung.

mi español está bien.

bonjour,

So is there anything going on? user groups?
read somewhere about a boot camp?

Where is the place to meet other "nouvelle" film-makers in France?

How about actors? good place to meet, chat, talk with? crew?

Is there a production listing or indie website? Is there any sort of organization that supports indie making in France? i'd like to find out what's coming up and lend a hand or two.

Well, I talked about the bootcamp on the forum cause our company LocaRed
will organize one in Paris in February. More info will be posted soon on the website www.locared.com
As far as information around the Red in France we try to post as much as we can on our website as well and we do red presentations regularly on saturday mornings in our offices. The next one is this saturday from 10h30 till 12h30, if you want to come you're more than welcome, just send an email at info@locared.com
Regards,
Arno

Red meetings at LocaRed

Red meetings at LocaRed

Hi, I was there last saturday. Pretty interesting... Too many people I thought, surprisingly enough... I'd like snobish meetings with Red owners to have a more personnal thorough presentation and manage expectations... I know this is about digital democracy, but some of us are into real Red life now, and have less interest with the curious and excited crowd... We are going to face real issues, besides the fun of having a camera and shoot... Support and service is becoming a key point for us. I support the excitement, being a paying pionneer, but my investment is real and goes beyond students curiosity... Is locared thinking about red owners, being the 1st company to place itself among Red technical experts in France? Or will we have to open a Frequent Flyer Fedex account to have our gear serviced in California all the time? Not that I think it's unreliable, but it's a bit like buying a car in a foreign country... It's an important issue...

hey guys I will be in Cannes this year and wondering if anyone wants to meet there? what better place ?!!

Two more REDs in France...

Hope to meet you all soon:tongue:

Welcome on board :)

We are located between Pau and Biarritz, and we should receive our camera in a few weeks.
If you need company for the festival, let us know, it could be good fun.

Bonjour,

Apparently most EU-based Red owners have not had to pay any duties on the camera body itself as it is declared in the DSLR category which incurs 0% duty for EU import from the US. Lenses are 6,7% and the rest of the accessories are around 3-5%.

It seems important to make sure that FedEx declares the camera body with the 8525.80.30 TARIC code to make sure it will not be taxed.

RED had previously posted the following Schedule B codes with which the camera and accessories are shipped:

One- 8525.80.5050
300mm f2.8 Lens- 9002.11.9000
18-50 T3 Zoom Lens- 9002.11.9000
EVF- 8528.72.6057
LCD- 8531.20.0020
Power Pack- 8507.80.0000
Drive (Raid)- 8471.70.9000
Base Production Pack- 7616.99.5060
B4 to PL Adapter- 9002.11.9000

Pick Up...

Pick Up...

Hi Steven! I lost your phone BTW... I was thinking to go and pick up my order myself and bring it back out of the box... Or have a friend from CA bring it back to me... It's a real waste to pay so much money on top? That's like another 30% on top?! Shit!
