mcprod
Hie Mc prod, I don't know yet if I'll be in Paris during the Satis. If I'm here I'm ok for a meeting. Always happy to meet brothers and sisters from Britanny. Btw I'm born in Lorient.

PS I'm sorry I won't be at the Satis this year, I chose to go to IBC instead, one has to work sometimes...
Damien I think You did the good choice choosing IBC, Satis is so tiny.

I welcome you in French, with no response, so I now stick to English, as per the majority of threads here.

Cheers,

Hi guys,
any Red users in Marseille, or the South East?
I am trying to specialize in aerial/underwater shooting, and would love to:
1. hear about experiences, budgeting, and workflows with the RED;
2. Hear from potential users down South interested in partnership.

Take care

Phil

My Point of View

My Point of View

Hi Kristin,
I am agree with your words.too seriously indie Film makers are have to limited budget than others.

OK Emmanuel, let's carry on with this thread ! Yes I was thinking of a network. My opinion : knowing how much rental companies here in France overcharge their prices because they're used to deal with producers dealing with State's money, I seriously doubt that, even if the cost of a Red package is very low compared to other brands, they will adjust their prices.

I was more thinking of indie feature/doc/shortfilm work than commercial work. I'm sure we are several readers here who have several features/shortfilms/docs projects. What if we create for instance an association of several filmmakers and we buy together a good Red package ? We could help each other on everyone's projects, just like they did with the Nouvelle Vague ? They succeeded in making their first films because everyone helped the others on their projects. I think we would have a better chance to succeed in our projects this way instead of trying desperately to do it the official way and being more isolated, now that the gear exists.

It's just an idea, maybe you have other ones... I was just think of applying the Red concept to the artistic path of creating movies. If you buy your own gear it will cost you more, you will certainly not use it everyday and you may encounter difficulty to rent it if you don't have a lot of connection.

What do you think, guys ?

Kristin

Very slick homepage,

Emmanuel, where in southwest france are you? I was born in Toulouse but my family is from further south...

Salut Armagnac

I happen to live in the country of Bas Armagnac, south of the forêt des Landes, north of the pyrénées and east of the ocean.
La Chalosse and its lovely hills gently rolling as far as the eye can see.

We moved here in 2006 and we are not looking back so much really.

Armagnac is my favorite alcohol along with single malt whisky.

Another future French Red-owner

Hi everybody,

You can add me on the list. I live immediately south of Paris, and I've just ordered my RED kit today. As a matter of fact, I can't find my camera #, which could give me an indication of the waiting time ahead (maybe more than 6 months I guess). Do you know how I could find/get it, as it seems it's nowhere in my order.

S.
