  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED DAY Vegas 2010 - REGISTRATION OPEN

Does anyone know if we will be allowed to record audio during RED Day events? (for personal use and edification only, of course)

That shouldn't be a problem, but if anyone is planning podcasts, live video streams, or anything of that nature please check in with me so I can give you clearance once I have it.

Well there hasn't been an open call for footage yet. RED already has some really nice footage that was shot on the M-X sensor that was shown at RED Day on Jan. 16th.

I hope they also call for non M-X footage. I have some good stuff to submit!

If we're just recording video and not posting it live, will we need clearance? I'd like to just bring a camcorder and walk around with it.

EDIT: actually, the more I think about it, the more awesome it would be to stream the event live from an iphone using Ustream. Hopefully we could get clearance with all the presenters and such. I'll be excited to hear an update on if this'll be possible.

Hopefully will have some answers for you guys soon.

I'm not sure if this has been answered yet, but has a time been established when RED DAY will begin on the 14th, and is there any cost for entry? I may be in San Francisco on the 12th and make may way back through Vegas on the 14th on the way back to Texas. Thank you my friends. Hope to meet many of you at the event.

Not sure if anyone answered this but, I had the same question...

Can anyone attend? Is there a cost for entry?

I can't give specifics yet, but I can say plan on a late morning start and a late evening finish.

No charge to get in.

There will be a registration process, but there won't be a cutoff this year.

Have you considered color coding raffle tickets based upon value of the prize? Red, white and blue where red is $2 each 10 for $15. White is $5 each 5 for $20 and Blue is $10 each 7 for $50. Using a graduated value scale for ticket colors such as: Red tickets are good on prizes with a value up to $100. White tickets for values between $101 to $300, and Blue from $301 up.

Wayne,

God love ya, man... but reading that, you *must* be an engineer by trade. :)

Lucas,

No such luck. I am retired, I did work in the aerospace industry, Apollo I helped send it to the moon with TRW. I however was a Technical Illustrator back then.

Today. my two sons an I want to make movies. We are really novices, but hey, everyone starts from somewhere. There is so much to learn, and in my case so little time to learn it.

So, back to the raffle tickets, bad idea I guess.

Thanks Steve,

We've booked room at Tropicana and plan to attend Red and NAB. I remain in much appreciation for you Red Guys and Gals. Keep up the good work and communications.

See you out there.

That's awesome you're making movies with your sons. The 3 Becks. Very cool.

Steve,

I'll admit it, I am pretty darn lucky alright (not so much in raffles, thus the color ticket idea). There is nothing better for an old fart than spending time with his kids (who are all grown with kids of their own now). All working on a dream. It's amazing it is the same dream.:yesnod:

I would imagine there are a lot of us old farts out in RED LAND with a dream.
