  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

My Hydrogen isn't able to download Redcontrol for Android... in GooglePlay, says device isn't support?
 
Eh, I've tried. I've done a system update but it says it's up to date... which I haven't used the phone in over a year, so I highly doubt that. The Android version is stuck at 8.1 and thus far I cannot update it.

Hate Android with a passion.
 
Same. Installed fine and works fine. Oddly tested 5 Android phones and 3 generations of iPhone. No issues.
 
Can confirm it works on my Hydrogen as well (though does not have the Komodo yet to try)
 
Got it working finally... Dunno why it was acting like a bitch, but the Google Play store wasn't allowing me to download.
 
Can't get an image showing up on my phone? I have the WiFi settings setup, but no image showing in the Red Control app?

did you turn LIVE STREAM ON in the camera monitoring menu ?
It can be done on the LCD or thru the app itself but is disabled by default so you have to turn it ON once...

Yes, did so, nothing happened. Then I restarted the camera and the app, nothing happened. Then I restarted just the app, then I got an image. Might be a bug in the app perhaps? Will see if I can replicate it over the days (just got the camera woo! :party: )
 
Well, a further question on the topic of using the phone as a monitor. I got the Komodo Link Adapter, but I can't seem to find any way to actually monitor using that adapter?

Did you watch the video Rand posted a few days back? It shows you how to connect via the tethered/wired connection.

...from 40:30 minutes on, it starts to get interesting regarding wifi connection (differences between iOS and Android) and a minute later he's showing how to build up the tethered connection via Komodo Link. Hope this helps.

All good now, tethering works. However, there are still some stuttering. All the dropouts seen on WiFi control are gone, but it's not smooth. Is there anything else that can improve the Link performance or just wait for a firmware improvement?
 
Does anyone know any good and sturdy holders for the Hydrogen? I have a Red Arm that would work perfectly if I could put the Hydrogen on it (as long as it doesn't detach when you move the camera around)
