Quick question. Does the Epic have any sort of jack where a simple record button can be plugged into? Like LANC jacks. Redmote is great and all, but sometimes a simple button will do.

The start/stop LEMO on the Epic is not a simple pin closure. Such an adapter would require a hint of circuitry and a power source.

So the one on ebay for the Red One won't work with Epic?

It doesn't mention any circuitry in the listing, I'm sure they would want to tout that.

Brand new, custom made 15' RED ONE DIGITAL CINEMA camera remote GPI trigger cable. This cable plugs into one of your two 4-pin Lemo AUX ports on the back of the camera to start or stop recording. This cable uses high quality Canare wire, genuine Lemo connector and a very heavy duty Switchcraft momentary pushbutton switch and grip with rubber strain relief. Built to last yet ultra flexible!

Brook is right.

Good news is.. for those circumstances that the REDMOTE wireless isn't enough for start stop, we are indeed making the most badass wired (via BNC trigger) that anyone has ever seen... stay tuned.

Ha Ha, just when you tough you had it all... Great Jarred, we sure want couple of those for some upcoming tricky shoots in some Italian Caves... ;)

I would love to see some sort of handgrip with start/stop button integration. :D

How about wired capability for the Redmote - for use with the epic in underwater housing (redmote in separate housing outside of camera housing - RF travel underwater) as well as other situations where wireless may be dicey?

Sounds exciting! Will remote power up/power down from standby ever be a feature?

Jarred, I don't think it can get any more badass than the ones we have on Spider-Man. :)

Will the Origo work on Epic?

Brook, lets see a pic, or it didn't happen ;)

I think my RedMote is a great trigger!

Prost,
Rich

Any update on this? Thread surfing to find a GPI start/stop via BNC.

What happened to this?

Is the wired trigger something we might see soon? Maybe attached to the new "TED HANDLE"?
