  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Perfect example. If you look at the green posts they dont really shift that much except where the red brick is reflecting off the back right post.

But the Irish skin, hair and brick all JUMP out beautifully from the RED color families. Just my observation of RC3, great to see the focus on skin tones which is mostly red's flow into the image so nicely and creamily.
 
IMHO skin tones are on par now with Alexa and Sony F3 is left in the dust.

Just in time for our second Scarlet with Canon Ti coming in yesterday. Perfect set now with Epic and two Scarlets, we are ready to take on anything!

i wish someone can go into The Lincoln Lawyer and pump some of that through RC3 because Lincoln Lawyer had some of the worst Red MX skin tones I've ever seen in my life, i.e. some of the worst period I've ever seen in my life but it seemed mostly due to the deliberate grading as that movie just looked very heavily graded in unnatural ways to suit a particular taste/color palette/aesthetic. But the skin tones were so god awful it made me cringe...

Damn... every other slider still crashes RCX-Pro and I have to CTRL+ALT Delete to reset the UI on all of our NVidia GTX 64 bit Win7 systems. Guess they couldn't repro or find the cause. :( So frustrating.
 
Can't wait to try it out! By the way, is audio playback in camera enabled in the new Epic build?
 
Holy moly. I just wrapped on a shoot and come home to this humongous update. I was exhausted, but man, now I'm unpacking my gear to update and install everything. How can I sleep with RC3 and the new camera builds available?!

After seeing what RedGamma3 and RedColor3 did to my footage from 2008, I wonder if I really needed the upgrade from R1 M to the Epic. :)

I have some high contrast scenes from 2008 that all were shot on the R1 M and exposed in order to protect the highlights. It resulted in having a high noisefloor in the shadows. I've spent a lot of time in both Color and Motion to make these clips usable and not really getting there. In RCX PRO build 11, with RC3/RG3 dialed in and the clip settings in default mode, that noise is not only gone, but the whole image looks like it had been filmed with HDRx.
