Okay, It seems, scarlet weapon has been announced.

Scarlet weapon is def better than Raven, here is the list of something that can be considered.

1. You will get actual S35 focal length (5k 48fps)

2. Better frame rate at 4k (150fps)

3. You can change mount*

4. You might have a chance to upgrade your camera to weapon dragon?

5. OLPF could be interchangeable.

....

is it worth paying extra +4500? or do you wanna keep your raven?

I think I am gonna keep my Raven.

If I need better camera, I could rent'em out.

How do you think about it?

Muni, SCARLET-W will have upgrade path to WEAPON, yes. How do you get SCARLET-W is $14,500 more than RAVEN? RAVEN is $5950 for brain, SCARLET-W is $9950.

Arghhhhh

I put wrong number... +4500

P.S: It's Minu.... T_T

and doesnt both do 4k at 150fps and 4.5k at 120fps… when the bump up to 4.5k happened, we all talked about it and the max resolution fps will stay the same, but at lower size, 4k, and 4kws i think they said would do 150fps

im keeping raven, i like the lens control possibilities.

and that scarlet price has no mount...

im also sticking with raven because for personal camera i dont need more then 4k.

aaaand…if i had pl mount id spend a fortune on lenses, so it's really like a 50k difference :)

Our sentiments exactly. Hence, why we are offering both RAVEN and SCARLET-W, different horses for different courses....

Those lens control possibilities will be same on Scarlet-W.

But yes, Raven remains an AMAZING deal.

only if you have an EF mount though, because what pl mount lenses have internal iris and focus control.

you can use any mount you would like on Scarlet W. If you want ef with fool control, use that mount. If you have a job that wants PL glass, put the PL mount on.

Also, looks like Scarlet W will do ANA.

id also personally rather spend the extra money on the new red evf then 5k and pl mount.

So I'm sure this is going to be asked in a thousand different ways but for us that have put deposits down on Raven, what would be the main driving factor to switch to Scarlet-W vs keeping your Raven order in place? I know the differences but if we're shooting all EF mount glass, and are ok with the standard OLPF and the marginal reduction in Resolution/crop is the scarlet-w worth an extra $5k for a shooter like me?

no, because you just mentioned all the differences and that they dont effect you. id say the main factor is if you want to be able to switch mounts.

I think you answered your own question. If you're fine with the fixed mount, lower res and FOV, then what other reasons are there?

I'm also debating the upgrade, but I'm having a hard time justifying it. 180-200 MB/s would have had me, but at the same 140MB/s as Raven, it's a tough sell.
