  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Raven Queue Put Together

It's Thursday here in India now. And 12th January.
Today is the first anniversary of my Raven booking! :)

Its Friday, 13 January in Australia and still no news. I paid a deposit in December 2015 and was hopeful for a allocation soon.
So sorry girls and guys it looks like its going to be a long long wait!

It seems that's a given. But Jarred mentioned that they will be able to push out 5 times more Ravens this month than last month (If I remember correctly). Those have to go somewhere. Of course this is me assuming that at least some of those people are actually on the list and not all of them are companies or rental houses.
 
Seems like they stopped making Ravens altogether. They probably regret even creating the camera at all with such a "low" price point especially since Jarred urged people in his Holiday Update to cancel their pre-orders for the Raven. In the past 3 or 4 months there have been less than a handful of "known" allocations for the camera. I hate reading on this forum or having a Bomb Squad rep say "..well just upgrade to blah blah camera and you'll get it way sooner." I interpret that as "Give us more of your money because we suck at actually fulfilling what we promised." My pre-order estimated date has changed 4 times to further and further into the future. I ordered the Raven on April 22, 2016.

I do believe that Red will deliver the cameras - its just that you need the patience of a saint! I have been waiting 13 months and I am still prepared to wait longer. The Australian dollar is weak so to upgrade to SW is quite a lot more, so there is not a lot of incentive to upgrade - I would rather just wait. I live in a small island state where there is no rental house, so rental is not a easy option - so my only option is to sit patiently while trying not to lose my mind!:001_tt1:
 
I'm a UK customer and ordered the I/O package through CVP on the 25th Feb 2016. I received the call on Friday from CVP to say that my Raven had arrived in stock. I paid yesterday and it's arriving tomorrow morning. They're still churning them out!

They definitely do, but it just seems to some people that for months almost all of those have been going to dealers and not individuals that ordered through RED directly, almost like RED is prioritizing dealers over the individual times tamps.

I'm NOT saying they are, I'm saying it looks like it to some people as "almost literally" nothing has moved in the queue since the end of September (which in two weeks will have been almost 4 months ago).
 
Looking grim for anyone who has pre ordered. Was told by my rep Any and all preorders for Raven are not going to see any until the end of 2017 / early 2018..... this is ridiculous.

Well, assuming that is the case and it seems more probable every week that it is, quite a few people will have to make due with something else. I for one have pre-ordered a GH5 (as I need 4K 60P) and will wait patiently for my RAVEN, because at this point I'm happy if it ever shows up at all. And if it doesn't, well, than it just wasn't supposed to be.
However, I'm not going to give up on it after almost a year of waiting and reading through all the Threads on RU and learning so much about this Eco-System, especially after I saw what IPP2 manages to tickle out of the Dragon-Sensor.
 
Following a similar path to you, Visar. Potentially wait for the Raven and try and find a stop gap. Gh5 seems like a low cost option, but after working with R3Ds its hard to go back to anything else.

It seems the dealers get a huge advantage in terms of priority. Would anyone be able to recommend a reputable RED dealer in Canada to see what their expected wait times would be?
