  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Raven Queue Put Together

Ah don't tell me that D: I'm cautiously optimistic that the order volume tapered off after the big Sept-Oct rush.

More importantly, the sensor output will probably be increased now that the WEAPON 8K VV ovens are probably being opened up for making RAVEN and Scarlet W sensors.

Industrial-Military complex 8k VV orders switching to the (newly acquired ovens building the) 8k Helium sensors.

Are they actually going to be going to using those ovens for Ravens and SW's? I didn't think production attempts stopped on those I thought helium was just its own added new line. I'm also confused how introducing a sensor line that will live in a 25+ thousand dollar camera will alleviate pressure off a 7 and 10 thousand dollar camera queue??

My understanding from putting together several different posts is that RED has a lot more customers than the people waiting in line for Ravens and Scarlet-Ws. They have military clients, TV, etc. These clients traditionally wanted Dragon sensors too, so there were not as many sensors available to Ravens and Scarlet-Ws. Now, with the introduction of Helium, these higher-end customers are switching to the new seonsor, so there will be many more Dragon sensors available. So, if all goes well, production of Ravens and Scarlet-Ws should go up in the next few months. I don't have any inside information though, it's just what I've pieced together from different posts.

got you. I hope that's the case. sitting here with a february timestamp very ready to get my hands on a raven

When sensor wafers are being "baked" they are not yet cut into their designated size and shape as I understand it? So the Dragon sensor lines are producing the sensors for all existing cameras other than the brand-new Helium equipment cameras (expecting these are limited edition Epic-W's). So with another sensor line up for the Helium's it takes pressure off of the Dragon Sensor lines which I can only imagine are crazy overloaded. Let's face it RED was a boutique camera company prior to lambasting the much larger companies with the Raven and Scarlet-W. I imagine the demand for those camera's has been absolutely massive, especially for a company that essentially hand makes these bad boys

*Please feel free to correct me if I am way off of my thoughts on sensor production.

I'm so ready to finally get this camera in my hands. Hoping for a big jump in timestamp dates this week

Don't expect this "big jump" to be more than a day or 2 going by all previous updates...
You don't think after the first couple of weeks of orders there will be less orders progressively and the jumps would start to be bigger?

I don't think so! I just hope to be allocated before December, and I have a november timestamp! 1 year aaa :/

Raven with the wooden Camera cable-less-v-mount Blueshape and male pogo to female pogo LCD/EVF cable 18".

The battery is the new PAG PL150 for which the UN flight certified version will be out at the end of August. This is an empty shell they let us borrow to make the custom water housing.

The next 10 days the carbon fiber water housing is being built for it by CMT water housing in California. Should have it all here in France by early september.

2 ports are being made for it. For the Tokina 11-16 and the Canon 16-35 f4 L IS.

Will post some better quality photos of set-up when it's finally in my possession.

Oh yes, I do expect jumps to be bigger, but so far we've only gone from 9/24-10/5 so I have zero hope of any big jump as of yet. I was hoping to have my Raven by now for a 2-day shoot starting tomorrow but obviously that didn't happen which is a huge bummer. :(

Allocated! 9/30/15 timestamp, got my allocation email yesterday, almost 11 months, but hopefully it'll be worth the wait! :)
