A feature I used often to conserve power on my DSMC 1 and 2 cameras was the power sleep function. I would often apply the short cut to a side user key on my monitor and enter power sleep between takes. Received my raptor the other day and so far I haven't been able to find this option. Am I missing something?? On a job yesterday I was just pulling the monitor cable occasionally to save on power during time between takes.

Not looking like it as of yet... I invested in quad simultaneous charger as I expect to run through a lot of bricks!

Don't know about any power features, but I can confirm when the camera is idle and not rolling, it uses less power. Works a bit differently from DSMC2 in that way.

I seem to remember that tests showed that the sleep function on DSMC2 saved very little power and was hardly worth it? I might be mistaken though!

I've tested this on my DSMC2 Dragon. Sleep makes pretty much no difference to battery life. But I was using the little 4.7" Touch monitor. If you are using a monitor that draws a lot of power it probably helps a bit.

The small monitor is sucking quite a bit of power. Think of how hot it gets.

However putting the camera to sleep seems to hardly make a difference to power draw. I think the monitor's power draw is negligible compared to the camera and sleep mode does not seem to change the camera's draw.

DSMC2 monitors were "dumb" they just displayed a signal and returned some button pushes - used little power. DSMC3 monitor besides being much brighter also has a lot of processing, most of which is redundant, and uses a ton more power - about 15watts - so a sleep mode would be useful. Another benefit of using a monitor with an off switch, and not the dsmc3 touch.

In the mean time, shooting higher frame rates consumes much more power even when not recording, assign a side button with a 24fps preset to switch to when your not recoding to save on idle power draw.

and yes Kemalettin, raptors reset timecode every time your power down - really annoying.
