I had a quick look but I couldn't find a thread like this. Forgive me if my search skills let me down.

I've always liked seeing how other people light scenes. There used to be a thread on one of the cinematography forums that was essentially the same where people would post BTS shots and then the final shots so you could see the effect. Don't know if anybody takes photos of their set ups but if you got em I'd like to see em.

Here is a little BTS on a project I recently finished. It wasn't the most complicated set up but it got the job done. There is a larger article on my blog here:

Sweet! This could very well turn into my favorite thread. I hope to contribute to this soon...

Guys, this thread looks promising, keep it up please.

Thanks for opening this thread

I've been keeping a blog with, amongst other things, many different lighting setups for some of the projects ive shot stephenmurphydop.blogspot.co.uk

Hey Stephen, I've been checking out your blog for a long time. I'm a big fan of what you are doing. Hopefully you will put out more and share them here when you do.

For what its worth, here is the lighting scheme for this clip. The diagram was a bit of a nightmare to try to prepare so please forgive the lack of illustrative skill. The camera was an SI2K. The 12K HMI was about 200 metres distant and gelled I think full CTB. The 850w redheads on the right were primarily there as worklights so nobody broke a leg shambling about in the dark. They were also used to side-light the treetrunks and remained bare. The 500 bulb LED to right of the subject had a blue bias and was gelled with 1/4 CTO. The 650watt Fresnel to the left was also gelled by folded 1/4 CTO warmer. -------------- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xweWwcR7x0E ---------------

Thanks Patrick - I cant write about every project due to NDA's but when i can i always try and put something up on the blog. To be honest i rarely post to this forum but if you keep a semi regular eye on my blog im sure you wont miss anything i post. thanks again.

Will do Stephen.

Here is one from another shoot this week using a Creamsource LED from Outsight.

I needed a big soft source that ran cool and was easy to set up and tear down. This light ticked all the boxes. Only issue was the green tint of the LEDs but with a little post balance most of the worst was out.

All shot on the Epic at 5600k 48 fps 180 shutter.

Here's a simple setup that did the trick. See if you can guess it. BTW, love this thread.
