  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Post Your Lighting Set Ups...

Hey Elias, what's causing the white lamp shade to be that bright (upper-left corner of the frame) and what was used for the light coming down on her head/shoulder?

Kino Flo 4-bank (all lit) above as a hair light/ Fill .
Tungsten practicals for keylight and mood (supplemented by a 1x1 600 Led daylight balanced panel off camera right , in front of her for fill on the face). 1x1 600 LED daylight balanced slightly above the ground off camera left for a bit of rim and texture. (In hindsight I should have moved it another foot or so off camera to alleviate the fall off a bit.)

It's a clip from a short fashion spot that I shot last month which can seen here [ 2 Clips NSFW ] : https://www.behance.net/gallery/20143675/Formentos-Jelena-New-Haven-2014-Video

Stunning and awesome photo Elias!

I cannot get the link to work to see the video.

Have you put this up on youtube or vimeo?

Awesome thread. Thanks Patrick for kicking this off. Some amazing work on here and extremely informative. I'll try to add to the mix when I can.

Here is a quick post of a Toyota spot I shot last summer. I am terrible with taking set photos and need to start doing it more. Thanks to our Key Grip Gabe I have this photo of our crazy car rig. Still frames are not the best quality and just pulled from the web export. Two Kino celebs at full power. We had a cut of 216 I believe on the open sunroof to give a little ambient fill to the inside of the car. We were under the gun with schedule on this and didn't have much time for coverage. The car also had to actually be driven so we couldn't place anything in from of the driver. We quickly swapped around the hostess tray and lighting depending on the setup. Definitely a challenge in the mid day Atlanta sun. We didn't have the budget for a process trailer and poor man's process was not an option either.
