1 Kino 4x 4ft. placed right above the table with a 1/1 diffusion taped on.
The green light comes from single kino tubes wrapped in colour gels and places in as practicals.

Hey everyone, first time posting on this thread but I get inspired looking at everyone else's work and wanted to share. Here's a grab from a project I DP'd back in August since they're releasing the trailer soon. Not the cleanest footage in the world but it's always been one of my favorite shots.

Bounced a 1K Tungsten off the wooden ceiling for the key. A 300w Tungsten directly above camera for fill and the kicker was a 650w Tungsten just off frame to enhance what I was already getting from the practical fire.

Ive posted this in a Cooke Panchro lens thread, and had people asking about the lighting. Camera is Arri Amira, lens is 75mm Cooke Panchro TLS, shot wide open 2.3 stop.

We did Hillary Clinton's last ad that aired The evening before the election, one week ago today. I also shot 4 other (to camera) ads for secretary Clinton over the past 18 months and also shot most of Obama's on camera ads in 2012 election and his DNC convention film in 2008.

The producer/director wanted a "night" look.

I had a few challenges. We walked the entire hotel looking at different rooms to choose the largest but it still wasn't as long or as large a space as Id prefer, this is a normal/usual problem, as hotels or somebodies living room are often what your given. Then we had a wardrobe meeting with Huma where she brought us 4-5 options and we chose a mid tone muted color and lit to that choice. Then 5 minutes before the Secretary showed up we were told she vetoed our color choice and was wearing all white. Ok, we started scrambling to anticipate this last minute change, turning off one bulb each on the kino's Key. The "Ring" soft light is not conducive to flagging part of the frame, it goes against the whole concept. When the secretary arrived we had another 2-3 minutes while they touched up her make up etc in the chair to see the overall effect on the scene, and make last moment adjustments. When they said "go" I had to go. The ad looked ok to me, but the post guy added a ND grad on her jacket (relative to her face) which also brought down the lower half of the background also.
