  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

PLAYBACK

I am very happy now... Having playback, Cam wave working....

And hopefully we will have audio on playback soon and then I cannot see anything else I need.

Great work...

But.......... Can you please make the shutter mode default back to RELATIVE instead of ABSOLUTE. It is a real pain in the bum that that camera defaults to ABSOLUTE now.

But my but is very minor!

Good job and I am very happy with my purchase and with my EPIC M.

love this feature....scrub, in-out, frame by frame...best way to check highspeed...but, to my concern, this is something that we're not too often use, right ? afraid if playback effects the RAW files...

I black shaded my at 96fps, shutter 1/192, 5k. Make sure you have your shutter set to "Relative" and NOT "Absolute". Should work

Does anyone know of a way to enable playback with one of the modifier buttons on the side handle or redmote? I didn't see anything labeled playback in the settings for those. It would be nice to not have to use the touchscreen, or go through the menu every time you wanted to enable / disable playback.

I always love reading these smart-ass comments. The Alexa doesn't come with media, SXS cards, viewfinders, etc.. either when they tell you the first price.

Actually (depending on when you ordered), the quoted package included 5 SxS cards and the EVF, mounting bracket, handle etc.

But it was still a WHOLE LOT more than an Epic-X kit ;)

Anyone having any problems with this Alpha... Just trying to gauge how late an alpha this is?... and if it is likely to move to a Beta or RC in the very near future.

thanks

Michael

I shot all day on it yesterday on a chromakey job. 24 and 40 fps. No problems whatsoever.

Best news since Epic-X letter :)
Media list and curves are also great things. And worked whole day :)
Great, Red Team!!

Thanks John, managed to do black shading finally, what is the difference between absolute and relative ?

I think of "Relative" like a film camera shutter. If I change frame rate, my exposure is going to change. "Absolute" on the other hand, when you change frame rates, the camera will adjust your shutter so that your exposure stays constant.
