Granted. Weapon brain is actually almost half an inch shorter than the Epic brain, and when you add the modules there is no adapter needed and things get much more compact ( the base IO for example only adds 3/8" of an inch to the body ) For super compact setups, where you may not even need the base IO, just the battery module, you can skip the IO module completely.

Can you reveal if the height is the same? Particularly height of the optical center, I'm not worried about overall height as much. Really hoping my DSMC L-Plate will work with Weapon.

ha ha best response ever. But no as cool as InfraRED is its not fast enough. And wireless video still isn't where it needs to be yet to build it into the camera.. but we have something that lets you use what is available out there as an accessory.

I hope there is a dedicated TC input.
I hope there is real start/stop via contact closure.
I sure hope there is more than one HD-SDI output. No one like loop throughs. No one likes sticking DAs on the camera.

Glad to see that Arri is making a camera with form factor more like the Epic, and Red is making a camera with connectivity and display more like the Alexa.

-Dragon Upgrade
-REDVolts
-RR-X
-Mini Mags

Unless of course you don't plan on moving forward in the next 18-24 months and can make your money back.

Did Jarred confirm somewhere that the RR-X will continue to work with Weapon? Been scouring through hundreds of pages looking for the answer to this. I just put my RR-X order on hold after I heard about the Weapon upgrade. I'm definitely planning on upgrading so I would love to know.

Jarred would you be able to confirm at this time RR-X weapon compatibility? Thanks!

In this case Red has been working very hard on Weapon and it shows.

The Movi M10 is only good with a "stripped down" Epic/Scarlet... Weapon won't change that.

In order to properly work an Epic camera you need the M15... Or the Ronin... Unless you plan on shooting with the stripped down camera and very short and light weight lenses.

... I had been wondering if you had seen the full picture. The 'Eject' shot (from the Weapon Info and Data sheet) seemed to have a reframing of Shane's site that revealed move chevrons

Either way I think it is very cool for Red to get Industry leaders like Shane (&Phil!) a chance to see what shall be unleashed to the rest of us at NAB.

The Movi M10 is only good with a "stripped down" Epic/Scarlet... Weapon won't change that.
