  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Picture of a Weapon

Jarred wrote "Wire Removal" on his FB post, not "wireless."

Plus, didn't he already say there's a new monitor cable connector? I imagine that's for when the camera isn't attached to the body.

Ah, yes. I suppose one less wire is always nice but I seldom have the monitor in that position so likely go unused in my case.

Well it looks like there are multiple connectors on the top. I'm sure a connector for the new handle (for the record button to work), one for the monitor and maybe some other attachments. It looks like the monitor is taller then the camera allowing it to swivel, but I usually put my monitor on an arm so you can move it to almost any position.

I guess display without cable will work only on one place on the body. But when you need to attach the display somewhere else you will need the cable. Or wireless HD video from the body to the display? Who knows :wink5:

I have this nagging feeling that I remember Jarred saying something to the effect that the monitor can be removed from the camera and using 3rd party solutions could wirelessly transmit to display.

You have some options on the other side of 512GB as well.

I mean you will.

Jesus you guys got me talking too much again.

At this rate, we won't have any bullets left in the chamber in three weeks. I think I need to start disabling wifi at RSH from the hours of 11pm to 4am until then!

LOL
You'll have to scramble all the 4g lte signals while you are at it. !

I think it might actually be fully wireless. Remember Jarred's photo driving around with a camera hidden in a box? I seem to remember the screen on his dash, camera at the rear of the car...

But he also said wireless video wasn't ready for prime time or more precisely, it isn't ready to build into the camera yet.

There is a window in the back of the cab suitable for running a wire, no?

I like the new monitor mount.

Now lets hope there is a wireless module that attach to the top of the camera where this monitor is seated and then a XL battery/wireless monitor module that makes the monitor into a little wireless handheld AC unit if wanted.

Kind of like a bolt that also feeds touch screen data back to the camera.

Shit.. does anyone know anyone at Facebook? I thought I blocked Brent from my page but apparently it's not working :)

This monitor mount is as wrong as all since the beginning of the Epic. The orientation order should have been YX not XY, considering Y to be vertical. In other words it should pan first than tilt. Every flip out camcorder got it right.

But if you have to mount the Monitor in one place that's mighty limiting.

Not if your isreali arm is a "cable". It wouldn't be that hard to make a 'hot' arm that transfers power along the outside of the arm.
