Dan,

Encryption to protect from the "wireless Paparazzi" really only offers benefit to a small proportion of users. Even though I work on TVC and network TV the images would be rarely of any interest to outsiders. Switchable encryption could allow multiple recievers but if you had a sensitive job and needed encryptionn you would only then have to deal with one receiver?
Same here, I don't need encryption on most of my jobs, just give us the option to switch encryption off in order to allow multiple receivers and I'll definately order one.. ;-)

You can definitely run it on an HDMI splitter - I was using it with a Lanparte Anton Bauer Baseplate with built in HDMI splitter. The only thing is with those Lanparte plates - I'd recommend replacing the cheapo default V mount or fake anton bauer with a Real anton Bauer to give better connectivity with your battery. Redistributing the signal to multiple wireless transmitters is the best temporary "broadcast" solution we can come up with.

Unfortunately these things take a long time to develop and test to make sure they work well before deployment because we aren't as big as Red, Apple or Microsoft and don't have the kind of damage control they do if something slips through the cracks.

It's like walking on eggshells to make sure everything goes as well as possible - anyone who has ever started from the ground up knows how difficult this can be (ask Jim).

Thanks Dan. All I needed to hear. We shall order one as soon as we get the scarlet. I'd prefer sdi but the truth is, hdmi is still very good quality. If the cables are fixed well and snug in a way you cannot pull on them I'm sure I'll have no problems with hdmi. For a small crew like mine I'd have everything covered. Red touch for the operater, smallhd for the focus puller splitting to the paralinx to the director. Good job by the way and wish you a booming success. You deserve it for your effort and reasonable price point.

Thank you Kirk! You can still feed the output of the receiver end to SDI monitors using an Aja, blackmagic, Atomos, or other HDMI to SDI converter. Great for sending to multiple client monitors or other after the signal is sent wirelessly from the camera to your video village cart, or other. I realize that not everyone has a video village, and that is where the handheld abilities (that come from being small and light) on the receiver side come into play.

Hi Dan

How long do you think it will take before you have an option to disable the encryption so you can have multiple receivers picking up with the one transmitter is sending out?
On jobs where security isn't vital and risks of someone tapping in to copy what your are shooting are low, having multiple monitors would be super handy.

Also what is the handle rig you have on the wireless monitor? Would be good to get some of these and bolt a smallHD DP6 too it.

Cheers
Rory

One cable solution I use is --

I use the VF HDMI Clamp, a double female HDMI coupler and a Hyper Thin HDMI cable. I never have to unplug from that camera HDMI port during the day. It does not interfere with the DSMC side handle.

Dan, how heavy is the receiver? I need to reverse the units, placing the "receiver" on the camera and the transmitter at a computer.

Robert - Beautiful solution. Thank you!

Erich - the transmitter and receiver weight less than one ounce. Will put them on the scale tomorrow. They are ridiculously light.

would be nice with SDI in and out useble for Epic-X 1080P You make this i wil order one!!

Rory - It may take 6 months to a year. I don't want to make a promise I can't make good on. I will give you guys a hint when its almost ready.

The handles rig I have is really janky.

There are some GREAT solutions for monitor handles from IKAN right now. They actually have some really worthwhile stuff in the pipeline and their handles are RAD for monitors. Will get some myself shortly.

Robert - Beautiful solution. Thank you!.
Thanks!

INFO to note-- The Hyper Thin is the only HDMI Cable that I have found to fit in the VF HDMI Clamp without hurting yourself....

SDI would be super nice.
12V input would also be nice.
A thin "module" with "straight trough" connections would also be something... but thats coming from red quite soon I guess.
