Anyone shed some light on the differences between the handles?

The Jetpack has an outrigger style, okay understand that.

The Base I/O has a "Universal" handle.

Are we assuming this will be different to the DSMC2 Top Handle?

Any thoughts what it may be???

The DSMC2 Top Handle features a Start/Stop Button, 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threads, and a rubber grip.

The DSMC2 Universal Handle is this:

ha ha my hands are probably twice the size of normal people so that wouldn't be good but here is a size reference I just took just for you :)

yup... lots of them and all helicoils incase you fuck em up :)

Basically shorter in length, no Start/Stop Button, no rubber grip, and 1/4-20 threads along the top with helicoils.

I'm really hoping for something more like a sideways suitcase handle that lets the monitor fold down into for rigs and packing. I might have to design my own...

Any clue on what the M3 screw holes would be for under the media bay? Handle? Some other accessory? Maybe this is obvious or has been answered previously.

Thank you Phil, hadn't seen that picture!

Also, from the looks of it the 4.7" monitor doesn't swivel? Only tilts up and down.

Can anyone clarify please.

Just showed Jarreds Raven photo to illustrate scale to an industry friend who knows his cameras. His reaction was...

Why a coke? Shouldn't it be a grenade or missile, tank round, tazer, maybe a lion or a lizard but coke...

Can two 4.7" touch screens be mounted at the same time? (There are 2 mounting points on the brain after all). Not sure if this was covered somewhere else. I'm still trying to sift through several hundred posts that I missed since the announcement of raven

Yes you can. Only limitation would be that, only one monitor will have the touch features enabled (you can select which one in the camera menu's display priority list)

I am new to RED so this question might sound stupid, but when transporting the Raven with the screen and universal handle installed, how would that be safe? it seems like the screen cant fold down, and if it was during transport it looks like the screen would go directly into the handle. Would the handle have to be removed when transporting?

Thanks,

Alejandro

Take the screen off. And pack it away.

I like that idea! I will pitch it to WC and see what it would cost to make something like that. I assume you mean one that sits flush and pulls up when you want to use it and thing springs back into place.

I hear you on that issue, nobody seems to be complaining about the screen bumping into the handle on the weapon cameras, so it must not be a big deal, but we'll see once the masses get their hands on this... I would just remove the lense and then flip the screen forward and down over the lense mount.. and maybe put a Medium Red Microfiber bag over it.. works like a charm on the Epic bodies. may work here, but I would say only for quick, local storage... for long term storage/trips, I would remove the monitor and handle/accessories/cables... pack it properly... you don't want anything snapping or breaking in transit.

or it can flip back with roseettes to make room for the screen to flip down, but i what i really meant that it was sideways, but far back enough and wide enough for the screen to flip down flat towards it. id personally like to be able to take it out of the case ready to go. maybe just have a neoprene slip cover for the monitor too.
this can work for packing it up or on a rig where do you dont need things sticking out.

Obviously missed these pics of universal handle...not what I expected at all. I must of misunderstood as I thought this was the new universal handle being developed http://media5.starkinsider.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Red-Raven-cinema-camera-grip-700x467.jpg (could not find original thread with this image) Loved the start stop button and thumb grooves.

Guess I am going to need to spend some additional to get the
http://www.red.com/store/products/dsmc2-top-handle or whatever the side mounted handle in the pic is going to be called.

I'm pretty sure the display shipping with the weapon does articulate like the 5 inch touch
