Beautiful, Ben. That's a sick Milky Way.

One week ago Oulanka National Park, Kuusamo, Finland
Shot with Red One, Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L, 1/50s, f8.0

Ben, great shot, the Milkyway is stunning.

Not at all! This picture is quite good! Is that natural DoF, or post? (Either way it looks good!)

This was the start of a major storm that traveled 200kms south from where this shot was taken and caused over $1 billion in damages (insurance claims alone) in Perth, Western Australia.

That red lightning is crazy! That's Apocalypse/Armageddon type stuff right there.

In completely unrelated news, I've been dabbling in food photography.

These pics are frame-grabs from a shoot made with Olympus Mons at the Grand Canyon several weeks ago-- discovered Steve Roach that same night, thanks Hearts of Space. I was there strictly to capture monsoon thunderstorms and got lucky on day three but with no lightning-- maybe next year.

Those are some really nice photos you got there. I love seeing monsoons moving over vast landscapes like that.

Here are some pictures from a road trip I took over the summer. Locations include the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and various stops along historic Route 66. There is some beautiful country out there.
