I looked at the new cameras when they were just announced and then looked again today. It looks like the made some changes in the positive direction for what I am looking for.

I am lost when it comes to understanding the RedCodes? What is the difference between RedCode 42, 80(camera I am looking at),100,225 and 500?

Thanks,

-Lars

Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought they said that the Redcode number does not necessarily correspond to the bitrate? I thought I read somewhere that Recode 36 just happened to be 36 MB/s.

This is definitely not my area of expertise, so it wouldn't surprise me if I'm wrong.

If it is same as bitrate, then i guess REDCODE 500 is about 4000Mbit/s... and that need some seroius drive/flash/raid to handle that :)

I see. I downloaded the the app iSee4K for my iPhone and is has 2 of the redcodes that you can test to see how large your files will be. I guess I will have to wait and see.

I think that the only reason it wouldn't correspond is that you have to add on audio as well...
