  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OFFHOLLYWOOD OMOD for Weapon - It's ALIVE!!!!

A while back I was on the fence about Raven/Weapon and was looking for some simple non bank-breaking expanded functionality


Is anyone out there making an ENG module?

Really hoping that exists somehow in a Raven-friendly price. If so it could make Raven hugely (hugelier?) successful (successfullier?).

I assume this unit also includes the base I/O elements as noted earlier in the thread? (1 x HDMI, 1 x HDSDI, DC power input, USB power out, 2-pin LEMO power out, Serial (CRTL)). There have been so many changes to the OMOD line up that I figured it couldn't hurt to make sure. :)

Also I certainly understand if you can't answer this quite yet, but is there ballpark pricing for this? I realize the release is still a ways off, but with Xmas quickly approaching I need to start getting my budget in order.

Yes. You can get an OMOD with "everything" - or "just audio" or "just FIZ", etc. Lots of options to hit the different price-points and user needs. Working hard to show you guys all the options imminently. The AMBIENT TC module is integrated into the OMOD ENGINE - which does all the color/signal path processing and live-grade integrations - so, if you want the wireless TC you will have to choose an OMOD with the OMOD ENGINE which gives you a shit ton of extra functionality (3 independent SDI outs, 108060i, etc.). But there will be a "compare" embedded spreadsheet on the site when it re-launches so you can figure out which OMOD make the most sense for you.

Yes. You get 1 x HD-SDI, 1 x HDMI, CTRL, USB, 2 x 2pin LEMO.

Mark, That is exactly what I was hoping for!

Of course, I have a dozen more questions but I'll need to be patient. Plenty of time anyhow - my Weapon delivery is likely into the New Year.

Looking forward to the details as they become available.

What are the chances of the SDI being 3G, rather than HD-SDI? You're probably committed at this point, but I figured I'd inquire since it's the only thing missing at this point.
 
Mark!! Any news??? I am really hoping for a magically timed announcement to fall into my lap tonight, as tomorrow I have to make some decisions one way or another!
 
Now that RED has tipped their hand - ok, dumped the bucket - on their full, forthcoming camera line-up...is there any chance that you all might re-open OMOD reservations, at least for your early adopter program. My camera arsenal has grown with these fresh announcements, and I'll be needing more of these. Just wondering if we can amplify our pre-order, since we couldn't see our needs quite as clearly prior to all this DSMC2 goodness...

All jokes aside, I hope things are running smoothly. Any idea when we will finally get specs and prices?

Edit: Saw the post above and read the last few pages of the linked thread. Seems we're getting close. Great work Mark, as things look and sound promising!
