  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OFFHOLLYWOOD OMOD for Weapon - It's ALIVE!!!!

Can we add wireless video in it ? It would be all in one solution Epic Dragon players would love. Well I would.
And as you have Teraedek in your partners...

Can we select our own power outputs ? There is a large amount of 2 pins lemo out there.
 
Quick update:

#1: You CAN do 3-axis lens control with PL Mount lenses with cforce mini motors (or any cforce motors) with Foolcontrol on any OMOD with the FIZ installed. No hand controller. This integration is done as of TODAY - it just need some Mikael love on the Foolcontrol side.

#2: You CAN put a canon mount onto the Weapon and control the canon lens with hand controller. This is via the RF radio. So, you can use RF radio OR wifi radio to control canon lenses.

agree. still taking this in...a little mindbending to consider all the possibilities.

this may be kind of a dunce cap question but...if we sign up for the early adopter program, is there any statute of limitations about when/how we can pull the trigger on a unit? I know the goal is to get these out in the field and working, with the early adopter program, but I'm just a little concerned that the OMOD may be ready to ship before my camera is ready....which means having an expensive piece of electronics sitting around with no means of testing it, watching the warranty drip away.

We went back and forth on this a lot. The big issue with directly integrated wireless video is that the tech is moving so fast - low latency H265 streaming is coming sooner than you think, etc, - so ... putting a wireless video board inside the module is not in your best interest right now - TRUST me.

But we have a slick solution - that is "cable free". Optional and upgradable.

You attach an OMOD wireless video module onto the back of the OMOD - and THEN attach one of our battery plates. If you don't want wireless video - you just attach one of our battery plates (including a plate that allows you to interface with a RED Weapon battery module)

Clean, simple, low profile and no cables. And you won't be as bummed when the next big thing in wireless video suddenly appears :)
 
I'd really like to see a full configurator with all options and price estimates to make a decision on this one. Right now there's no way to understand if your desired config will be in your price range.

Understood. And we will do that as quickly as we can after IBC.

We are going to close the OMOD Early Adopter Program next Friday evening due to the response being greater than we expected. Some bloggers are supposed to drop by today - so hopefully there will be a video or two up soon with me walking folks through more features, etc.

Really pleased with what I'm seeing - a number of solutions I've been looking for.

If at all possible, would really appreciate a side by side chart of differences between the Dragon and Weapon models.
Trying to understand the cable/riser mentioned - any affect on rods to lens alignments with current configs?

Can you run AES and one analog port? I assume that engineering demo switch is just for channel 1 and then we can feed in 2 channel AES and a regular scratch mic mounted to the camera to channel 2? Or if you do multichannel AES is the second audio port inactive?

I'm finalizing audio board next week - so, I can't answer that yet. Stepping up the audio a bit so I have a bad ass solution for an audio-only module for RAVEN for the doc/news folks.
 
C'mon Mark tell me more about Raven ;)
 
Just a quick heads up - we are closing the Early Adopter Program tomorrow at 6PM EST as the response has exceeded our expectations. Thanks to everyone who has enlisted!! We had a great IBC, and even managed to figure out how to integrate even more functionality into OMOD - including support for some zoom servos, etc.
