  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OFFHOLLYWOOD HOTLINK + HOT TAP + HOTBOX R/S WIFI for RED DSMC cameras

Hoping against all odds to get one of these in hand by December 1st, as we have a huge technocrane job that this would be amaze-balls for.

Just got mine, wow. This thing is awesome.

Question... what's the shortest 2-pin lemo to p-tap cable out there? The distance from the 2-pin port to the nearest p-tap port on my rig is only 2 inches away.

Tom - hold off - we are adding LEMO "pigtails" to the store - super short lemo cables as tons of folks have asked - also - adding 90 degree options on all cables.

After Thanksgiving we will add a BUNCH of cable options to the store - and starting in December we will be able to ship faster - even on the custom stuff.

Pushing hard right now to get the HOTBOXs done and HOTTAP 2/USBs done and shipped - we got way behind as we underestimated the demand for HOTLINK - I'm gonna make up for the delays and growing pains with the next product that I will show in December :)
 
Cool. We've got some supertechnocrane work on the 5th-9th of December this would be amazeballs for. Along with the new cable you mentioned. If it's possible to grab one by then keep me in mind. If I have to fly to NYC to get it personally I will. Hah.

Thanks Mark, I'll hold off for your cables then. Hope they're as thin as the serial cable.
 
Got my Hotlink yesterday works extremely poor. The ios app disconnects just after 30s.

- iOS Foolcontrol 1.2
- Hotlink with firmware 1.0.04a
 
Mark, will you be renting out HotLink or HotBox? Will be getting a HotLink for my own camera, but curious if we'd be able to rent extras for multi camera work...

Mark was in Singapore for REDUcation but I'm sure he'll get back to you quickly... else you can probably get help thru offhollywoodny's contact / support page.
Does the blue light turns up when you power the HOTLink ? Did you power via lemo or USB ?
 
I at first had trouble too because of a competing "known network". I had to go the general settings on my iPhone and select the HOTLINK wifi and connect to it before scanning. I assume this has been explained but I didn't run across it in previous threads.
