  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OFFHOLLYWOOD HOTLINK + HOT TAP + HOTBOX R/S WIFI for RED DSMC cameras

hmmm.. it won't take my business creditcard.. keeps giving a AVS mismatch though i fill in the appropriate address )=

Looking into this - strange than many international transactions are going through no problem - but we've had 3 or 4 people report AVS mis-match - I assume you are entering your province exactly same?

Well I can report from the field that it still isn't usable, even with Dragon. Or do you call a 2 meter range usable ? I'd really want it to work, but it just doesn't. Not with the original Epic X, not with the antenna upgrade and not with the Dragon.

Let's be honest, the new wifi system is what the original Redmote should have been, plus many other things as a bonus. And that's ok, because it's way better :)

That's strange- they had such a great opportunity to fix it with the Dragon launch with all new boards.
I wonder what happened....

Don't know my MX got the new antenna and it I have never been in a studio big enough for it not to connect and some of the studios I been in has been pretty big. We got at least 50 meter range on our red mote.

But now the battery does not charge fully. But it's been a really good tool for the last 3 years or so.

This is great Mark, I want one or three :-)

Have you guys tested the Hotlink with drones? I concern would be the wifi causing havoc with the flight controller and GPS.
What Wifi protocol is it using?

+1 especially in the 2.4 range. But this is such verdant territory, we'll likely just purchase and test. However, I have a tendency to worry about something occurring during flight that did not manifest during testing. Sending a CF DRAGON into the ground, OR WORSE...is not a pleasant thought.

The stuff looks great, Mark! I looked around and I couldn't find this info. How much power does the HotLink & the HotBox R/S Wifi actually use? Also, what is the power limit for power outputs on the HotBox? The picture of the fuse seems to be a 2A fuse. Does this mean 2A limit for the total of the ports?

Just upgraded my Dragon and i can use the redmote up to 100 up to 150 feet!
See you sateray at the IBC !

New showreel on www.camlight.nl

I'm about to board plane to Amsterdam and pass out. I'll get online sometime tomorrow and answer more questions in detail.

But we found the issue that some International customers were having - it was a verification setting in our payment gateway (Authorize.net) that was not unchecked - and some international banks don't use that verification process - all fixed now.

We have NOT put a HOTLINK up on a drone yet ... so ... if anyone at IBC has drone and wants to take facilitate a test flight in the parking lot - I'm all in :)

Also - besides the RED booth - you can see the HOTLINK on the DJI Ronin in the DJI booth.

I'll be back soon. I sincerely appreciate all the interest in the products and I'm excited to over-deliver :)

Also - I'll also add some spec details to the website when I come up for air - but FYI - the HOTLINK is 4.2 ounces.

Also - the HOTTAP has a FIVE YEAR WARRANTY. So ... think how many of those disposable $60 crap plastic P-Tap spiltters you will buy over the next 5 years.

Awesome Mark! Will jump on it.
Cheers

Definitely ordering this before Friday. What input voltages are supported for the Hotlink? Couldn't find that on the website and don't think I saw it in this thread. I'm wondering if a P-tap to Lemo 2-pin cable running directly off a 14 V (or thereabouts) standard V-mount battery or battery plate will work.

Yeah, I was wondering about the USB power. Is it 5V?
