3. Can you continually touch the screen as your object moves and it will keep it all in focus?
Ok... now, that's pretty cool.....

Well It would be IF that touch screen was wireless and in the hands of the focus puller.
I don't see how it would be practical for the DOP to have his finger on the screen constantly while doing a shoot. And since your fingers are not transparent they will "conveniently" cover up the very thing you are trying to record, frame and follow.
now you're talking!!!!
If the redmote infact can control every aspect of the camera.. It would be very very usefull to have an analogue controler like a wheel which can be set as a custom variable for any number of functions.. That little unit could save you big money for having to invest in a follow focus, zoom, Iris system.

yes
yes.. and there are a few other features for racking etc. that should make you guys pretty happy.
yes
Question. We know the ring on the fixed Scarlet is an encoder, but will it have hard stops at some degree of rotation?
Edit: Wait.. Didn't Jim say that the ring was meant to be FOCUS only? Where did the encoder thing come from?
My guess... Very doubtfull. Would require to have the ring not only transmitting but also receiving data along with a servo or something to make it stop at the right point. Sounds to expensive to have that level of engineering in a camera at that price point.. But sure would be a nice touch.
If the answer turns out to be YES.. I will be very impressed.

Jarred Land said:The Redmote ( or multiple Redmote's) can control focus.. if you want it to.
And on the fixed 8x lens.. remember the ring on the lens is electronic. Which means you can program it to control focus. or iris. or zoom. Some people might want to touch focus or auto focus and use that ring for zoom control. Some might not. The choice is yours.
Looking at the Scarlet 2/3 Fixed lens assembly it seems like the sensor block will be further back in the body than the 2/3 Cinema. Is this correct?
