• Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Now it begins. Red BT shipping

I'm in no rush. I've just been getting paranoid. I have bad luck and am almost waiting for something to go wrong, still can't believe the price I got this for. I've been dropping TONS on accessories and parts for it, it would be awful to not wind up with the body for whatever reason. Haha.

Right there with you...

I'm not sharing this slow-paced mood unfortunately... I got 2 jobs scheduled and counting on red's processing time. Payed the fastest shipping method so I can have it on time. Still fingers crossed.

Same here!

Well it's been over 3 weeks for me and still no allocation or shipping confirmation. Two more days and I am into week 4

To everyone who has been patiently been waiting we hear you and we are working around the clock. Besides the 2 day holiday break manufacturing has been working double to get cameras out the door. Units are shipping out everyday. We are almost there.

Remember the 2-3 week allocation was an estimate.

Regards,

Being patient will pay off. I'm in no hurry either, although I my order has been allocated. Can't wait to receive this monster and put it to use.

Thanks Michael for the response.

Keep on rockin' guys!

Hi everyone,

I ordered the BT red one on the morning of 11/2/12, still no red and no shipping date, but the bomb representative let me know that they're still working on it. I think this is going to be like the begining back in 2007 when I heard of people having to wait a long time to get their red ones. Maybe its like buying a Lamborghini where even if you're paying up to a mil you still have to wait a year or 2 to get it. The bad news is that its undoubtedly going to be a while longer before I get it, the good news is the only reason that I'm this impatient is because I know something really good is going to be on its way to me.

In 2010, I didn't have to wait 3 weeks to get a Sony Ex-1r but the moment I got it, took some shots in the backyard and took a look at the footage, I was instantly disappointed because I knew it wasn't good enough. When I get the red one I know I'm not going to have that problem. I know that because some of the RED CF cards I've purchased had footage still on it and I looked at some of those shots and the colors and image quality were simply amazing. I guess when it comes to the best things in life, one simply has to wait for it, and its worth it.

Of course if I had known this firesale was going to happen I could have jumped on the site and purchased one right away and then I'd already have it by now.

I am sure no one is more eager to get these out the door then Red themselves. Quality control seem top notch. Mine looks factory new even though it has 815 hrs on it. So far I love it.. This is the camera I have dreamed of owning and now Red has made it a reality. I love the Bomb Squad.

I prefer the Red One to the Scarlet. I love 120fps at 2k and 4.5K WS format. This is the format I would shoot at with the Epic as well, so for the time being I am good on all fronts.

Is the 2k sharp at all? I always thought of the 120fps as a bonus but worried that the cropping of the sensor will make the footage dull

Thanks Alex. I will have to search for more. That video was only 720p. So looks like the 2k downsized which would result in sharpness but only 720p! I hate when people use these great tools and then post a downres version of the video. I was laughing my head off on that Sony video with the guy talking about the F5/F55 (4k cameras) and they posted it in 360p quality. Like WTF? How does anyone take that seriously?

Don't worry Samir. In 2k, the image is pin sharp. The only thing you'll need to care is the focal length. No much of a problem. I usually go with a Tokina 11-16mm when I need to go wide on 120fps. I was renting MX with this lens included on the kit.

And that's a great advantage over the scarlet which can do only 120fps 1k... Although it has more dynamic range, but not by far, in fact is a little bit more, but in extreme light conditions you can see it. Not a hassle, but you have to be careful on MX's DR. Is plenty for most situations.

Now if you compare it against the Epic, yeah is a problem for the MX... lol But you can work with both since now you can share redcolor3.

And you know, we bought it so cheap, I almost can't believe I can put my hands on such a great equipment for such a small price!
