  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

November 3rd logistics...

"Competitors need not attend." LOL, yeah, you probably don't want any medical emergencies as their hearts stop! Would throw a damper on the festivities.

I wish I could be there, but previous obligations win in this case. I'll see you online, and visit soon enough! N3 N3 N3!!

A quick question.

The registration page says "opportunity to purchase SCARLET online at the event".
Does this mean there's no way to get the camera on site ? I'd be coming from Shanghai just for the event, so...

I wondered the same thing, and initially interpreted that statement the same way, but it's Jim's absolute least favorite thing in the world when we read too much into stuff, so probably best to wait for official word. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

yea ordering and delivery. not likely... although RED is welcome to surprise... it takes time to deliver and fulfill camera orders.

Even though Ive got my tickets, the fairest thing to do is to have every one order online. Otherwise those who live near RED Studios or can spare the time and money to travel there would have an advantage.

I would play it safe and assume that you won't be able to physically take any cameras from RED Studio Hollywood that night.

I was at the RED store in Lake Forest a few years back and the representative told me that I could buy the RED ONE there, but could not physically take delivery of the camera. It would have to be shipped to my address.

Yes i guess i'll "just" come to share this great moment and then wait in line hehe.
I'd also prefer to avoid paying twice the tax (California and China) so shipping is not such a bad idea...

Haven't read every post, but is someone going to webcast the event? At least the announcement? Preferably in 3k?

Okay, doesn't have to be 3k. But still, would love to see it as it happens from 1000 miles away.

I..... I dont think that was worth it, unless you're doing more in LA than ordering a Scarlet.

Zac, my friend... what's the real worth of "happiness"!?

But i also agree with you... i'll like to make the most of my trip to LA... :yesnod:

Agreed...I have neither an iPad or laptop and am attending...so hopefully I'l be able to place an order somehow while there, or rush home to get back online afterwards to order my Scarlet...and will already be months behind on the waitlist *gasp*....I'm sure everything will be fine though, and fun :-)

The registration is now live - http://scarletcamera.eventbrite.com/
