  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

what about RED RAY 2k 3D Playback.
USB 3.0 for the red station.
& with the Red mote Pro what about if it can drive ARRI motors and use it to control PL lenses.

Guess the alacantra grips might not be done in time. ;P But magnesium body sounds like we are operating a Le Mans LMP1 camera. Isn't magnesium used on rims to reduce unsprung mass? Lol... sounds like a great pick up line. ;)

How is the boot up time on the new cameras? I'm really curious about this. Less than 30 seconds? Almost instantaneous? Throw me a bone ;-)

And to those complaining about the price points... you could be strung along by another manufacturer giving you much less capabilities, much less often, and in an outdated, obsolete, non-modular manner for about the same price if not more. If you want pro gear, you have to be willing to accept the costs and understand.

This is all a steal, a huge steal considering the pricing. If you really want this camera, instead of complaining that it's not "3k for $3K" use this time you have pre-release of the camera to do whatever you need to do to raise money for your eventual purchase. Hell, you could shoot a couple weddings and you'd have made up the difference in price increase.

I want to know what makes the Bomb EVF so special that it costs $3200.

No one can complain about the price now. Given the specifications, Scarlet 2/3 would be a bargain at twice its price. Well done to Red team, we are witnessing history today. I feel we are quickly reaching the day when we will be limited only by our creativity, and not camera's capability.


(Those who feel the price is too high: Do not be disheartened, there is always the option to rent.)
 
Looks good! My only questions that remain right now are the specs for the fixed zoom lens? Focal length range and speed would be nice. Also, how are you going to handle shipping them out when May-June rolls around? Will there be long waits or are you guys going to work your magic and meet the demand?

Again, everything looks incredible! Can't wait.
 
How do you put follow focus on a REDmote Pro without the device being able to view what the EVF/LCD is seeing...

that's code for: the REDmote Pro now receives real-time wireless video streaming? If so, thanks:) Or is that only for when it's cabled?

Seconded.... Infact this is the first time in my life where I wonder how it's even possible to produce such a product at that price point, let alone sell it.

what about anamorphic mode ? will there be any possibility to use anamorphic glass on the s35 brain with correct aspectratio output? maybe through the pro i/o module ?

from what i heard a lot of people in the epic field want to use scarlet as a B camera but without the same glass(assuming 1st unit shoots with anamorphic glass) it would be a big compromise to shot scarlet as B camera.

so i dont know if there has been any changes to the initial plan to not offer anamorphic recording/review playback to scarlet?
