  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Nikon Mount Aluminum and Titanium

Maybe this is a dumb question?
I have an Epic X, it is aluminum, right, What is the difference TI or AL mount for my camera?

I know some of the Epics were TI , "M' so it makes sense TI to TI but is AL to AL the right choice?

Not being able to see the mount, does any one know if the actual bayonet mount is TI? Or Nikon original part?

Thank you!

heh heh heh.. We are there... You just don't know it ( yet )

Red Store New York? Red Studio East? I remember you posting about an NY trip recently... :-)

Sounds like you're doing something cool... A month before I leave New York! Grrrr.

Ordered TI. Add my vote for 300 2.8 and 600 4 VRII lenses...

Yeah.. I never knew... Whitney just gave me this energatic morning news (earlier).

Very cool. Just got a shipping confirmation from FedEx. My Nikon mount is due to arrive on Monday, the 10th. Here they come!

Just an interesting observation that no one is requesting any 3rd party lenses to the list. Actually I would add the Tokina 11-16.

+1 for sure; as soon as the Nikon mount works with it, I'll have an EOS mount 11-16 for sale: one careful owner... and one suicidally reckless one!

likely.. it was a pain in the ass so if nobody else has done it I can understand it.. but it sure was well worth the effort. Im not sure if we are more proud of doing this first.. or for inventing the first double lock system for still lenses.

The double lock is just brilliant Sir.

The optical quality of the f/1.8 lenses are as good as the f/1.4 ones, but they're way cheaper, so that's what I usually get
So here's a list I would love to see qualified for this mount:
AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 G
AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 G
AF-S Nikkor 85mm f/1.8 G

+1

Also, a request for support with the Nikon 105mm f/2.8G VR. :)

tokina 11-16mm, nikon 17-55mm, nikon 80-200mm

Is there any way to manually manipulate the iris on G lenses like the 11-16mm and 17-55mm at this time, seeing they are not on the list? Guess there is no way the mount can also function like the Optitek so you have manual control?
