Hi Brian,
Seems like September 7th is the day!
http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?78486-May-Product-Delivery-Update/page26
I almost missed Jarreds quote last week: "Shipping September 7th for both Titanium and Aluminum version."
I would guess it's probably a bit more sturdy than Nikon's mounts (due to the aluminum construction vs. steel and the positive locking mechanism the Red mount will have), but we'll probably have to wait for the mount to be released before we get detailed specs and an in-depth Q&A on it.Weight wise, what number do I need to pass to need supports on the Nikon AL mount? I wanted to weigh the glass ahead of time to know if rails are needed... and if so for which glass I have...
Guys, is the Nikon mount still on track? Any possibility to preorder?
Cheers
Ulf
so now that its out for order, can i get the tech specs on the max weight allowed on the Nikon AL mount? I am just trying to figure out which glass I need rails for and which ones I can let it slide on... i mean its DSLR glass so its not like it weighs a ton but I just want to make sure I am following the tolerances at all times. thanks!!!
ps ordered as well...
I'm confused by the tech specs for these mounts. Is the mount compatible with the older AF-S Nikkors? And will it allow iris control of them?
likely.. it was a pain in the ass so if nobody else has done it I can understand it.. but it sure was well worth the effort. Im not sure if we are more proud of doing this first.. or for inventing the first double lock system for still lenses.
